What this job involves:
The Critical Environments Operating Engineer is responsible for delivery of best practice systems and problem resolution on all data center electrical and mechanical infrastructure (UPS, MV electrical systems, generators, cooling systems etc.)
What is your day to day?
Responsible for maintaining, monitoring, and performing preventive maintenance and continuous operation of all building systems to maintain 100% Up-time including: fire/life safety, mechanical systems such as (HVAC, chillers, crac, crah, plumbing, controls), electrical including emergency backup systems such as (lighting, UPS, ATS, STS, PDU, generators, primary switchgear, power distribution, transformers), and hot water systems.
Monitors operation, adjusts, and maintains refrigeration, chilled water, and air conditioning equipment; boilers, and ventilating and water heaters; pumps, valves, piping, and filters; other mechanical and electrical equipment.
Must record readings and make and adjust where necessary to ensure proper operation of equipment.
Requires the ability to analyze the operation of various systems, determine the cause of any problems/malfunctions and take corrective action as required.
Comply with departmental policy for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
Maintains a clean and safe workplace.
Learn and understand the data center site in-order to manage incidents and events that put the critical systems at risk.
Work order management, including CMMS, Vendor Management, and Customer Facing Tickets.
Understanding and complying with emergency escalation procedures.
Perform additional job duties as required.

Physical Work Abilities & Requirements:

Project Engineering/Management responsibilities:
Manage the performance of construction administration services during major repair and replacement/upgrade of building electrical and/or mechanical systems and other related systems/components.
Supervise and coordinate sub-contractors to assure proper installation of equipment and delivery of services.
Work closely with clients and vendors to ensure on time, according to specifications, within budget implementation of projects.
Maintain detailed records on all installed wiring, cabling, UPS, HVAC, fire protection, emergency generator, security and mechanical systems and components.

Manage and/or perform analysis, evaluations and investigations of existing buildings' electrical and/or mechanical systems, with emphasis on power, lighting, life safety, communications and security.
Prepare and review reports for electrical and/or mechanical systems from a design, operation and maintenance perspective including identification of items requiring remedial action and estimated repair costs.
Provide engineering, supervision and project management support for existing data center operations.
Troubleshoot emergencies, potential problems and issues, and organize and supervise resolution.
Ongoing Operations Support
Provide ongoing technical support, management and oversight of vendors as necessary.

Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or other related field required
3 plus years applicable work experience in data center, pharmaceutical, hospital or other mission critical industries.
Technical proficiency in planning and scheduling, must exhibit excellent organizational skills.
Strong communication skills, the ability to lead coordination meetings, and actively facilitate progress in order to achieve scheduled goals.
Disciplined approach to managing task assignments. People skills, good judgment, and flexibility are critical to this position.
Ability to work cooperatively with internal administration groups, and to deal directly with customers and contractors to reach mutually acceptable terms and conditions.

**Job Summary**
Join us as a Mechanical Engineer II, responsible for the development, testing and analysis of a variety of HVAC&R products for both commercial and defense markets including heat exchanger coils, rugged air conditioning systems, refrigeration plants, and air handling systems.
