M-D is seeking an experienced Ecommerce Software Engineer to drive the technological growth and efficiency of our Ecommerce operations. This role will be instrumental in optimizing the end-to-end Ecommerce lifecycle, from order capture to final delivery to customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in integrating and managing logistics solutions, API development, and implementing EDI and TMS systems. Responsibilities:
Oversee the entire Ecommerce lifecycle, from order placement on marketplaces through fulfillment and shipping, ensuring smooth and efficient operations at each stage.
Develop, integrate, and maintain APIs with all online marketplaces and other Ecommerce solutions, facilitating seamless data flow for real-time order processing, inventory updates, and tracking information.
Manage and optimize Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to enhance shipping operations, reduce costs, and improve delivery timelines. Collaborate with logistics teams to design efficient workflows and ensure optimal system utilization.
Implement and manage Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) systems to streamline communication with vendors and partners, enhancing data accuracy and automating order processing.
Design and deploy innovative solutions to support and scale our Ecommerce business, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction through automation and technology.
Work closely with teams across the organization, including marketing, logistics, and customer service, to align technological solutions with business goals and address operational challenges.
Ensure the reliability and accuracy of all data exchanges and integrations, performing regular testing and maintenance to minimize errors and downtime.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
5+ years of experience in an Ecommerce software engineering role, with a deep understanding of the full Ecommerce lifecycle.
Proficiency in API development and integration across a variety of online marketplaces.
Strong knowledge of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) systems and their implementation.
Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and logistics planning.
Programming skills in languages such as JavaScript, PHP, SQL, and familiarity with REST APIs, JSON, XML. Preferably in a LAMP stack.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to design and implement scalable solutions.
Strong communication and teamwork skills, with experience in cross-functional collaboration.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities:
Certificates or education relevant to Ecommerce, EDI, or TMS systems.
Experience with ERP systems and their integration with Ecommerce platforms.
Oracle, MSSQL, and MySQL databases.
Willingness to travel (domestic and international) for company events.
Strong written and oral communication abilities to be able to present information and work with both internal and/or external customers.
