This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

• Minimum of 8 years of professional experience managing/architecting Network technologies.
• Excellent written and oral communications skills.
• Hands on expert level knowledge of Cisco and other leading network technologies and products, including Routing/Switching, Firewalls and Load Balancing solutions.
• Basic knowledge of F5 BIG-IP Load Balancing solutions including LTM, GTM, and ASM solutions
• Strong knowledge of Software Defined Network (SDN) technologies from Cisco and VMWare
• Solid practical understanding of Software Defined Data Center (SDDC), Software Defined WAN (SD-WAN), and Network Function Virtualization (NFV)
• Moderate experience with VPN solutions including different types of IPSec endpoints including Cisco Firewalls, Cisco VPN Concentrators, Cisco Routers.
• Strong understanding of network architecture within cloud environments (AWS, Azure, etc.) and the relevant topologies contained within.
• Expert level knowledge of Layer 2 technologies, including Spanning-Tree, VLANs, VTP, UDLD, VDC, and CDP
• Expert knowledge of Layer 3 technologies, including IPv4, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, IPv6, HSRP, and VRRP
• Balanced and pragmatic contributory approach to long-term vision, and incrementally phased way-ahead.
• Experience with medium to complex costing and proposal response.
• Documented experience with responding to RFPs and POCs.
• Experience with internal and external documentation written to varying levels of business and technical oriented audiences.
• Affinity for broad-spectrum, iterative, continuous improvement to affect capability maturity growth.
• Ability to reconcile their position and expert depth of knowledge with the business need for inter and intra-org synergy.
• Passion for learning, teamwork, and helping others.
• Successful candidate will be self-motivated. Individual must be able to prioritize responsibilities and work under tight deadlines.

Desired Experience

• Certification of CCIE or CCDE. Written required, Lab preferred.
• Solid practical understanding of virtualization and cloud solutions and services powered by VMware.
• Prior experience with Automation and Orchestration.
• Past experience with vendor relationships, both new and established.

Primary Responsibilities:




Lead efforts to engage with internal customers to identify and describe cloud connectivity requirements
Gather requirements and analyze datacenter network and cloud connectivity capabilities and identify gaps
Lead efforts to design modern cloud connectivity schemes, and describe their architecture; develop topology diagrams and supporting technical documentation, blueprints, schematics and SOPs
Assist various network operations groups to implement architecture
Provide expertise to assess performance and fine tune network technology implementation
Ability to identify and troubleshoot complex network issues in collaboration with other technical teams across the enterprise

Required Qualifications:




Bachelor's degree or 5+ years equivalent experience
5+ years of experience with large enterprise network design and operations

2+ years of solid foundation in the following network technologies:

VPN
routing protocols
firewalls
cloud connectivity concept






Preferred Qualifcations:




Network/cloud/security certifications
Network architect with experience in design and implementation of private, public and hybrid cloud solutions in large enterprises (specifically AWS, Azure, GCP preferred)
Coding experience with Python and similar languages, scripting and automation
Project Management skills / training
DevOps mindset and familiarity with leading public cloud offerings
