Responsible for leadership tasks as delegated by the store manager including acting as manager on duty, when scheduled, to address customer experience, vendor relationship, or maintenance issues. Partner with the members of the sales leadership team to support action plans that improve results and ensure effective execution of operational activities. Implement and sustain floorset direction to optimize the business and bring the product story to life. Perform opening and closing routines including execution of bank deposits, receipt of shipment, and interpret/disseminate company directives. Set the direction and goals for the day/shift when associates arrive for work. Provide individual and team performance feedback and recommendations to managers. Meet payroll targets by ensuring appropriate sales floor coverage and maintaining a selling focus. Lead exceptional in-store customer experiences through demonstrating and modeling selling behaviors rooted in Our Values and elevated product knowledge. Create genuine connections with customers through uncovering needs, sharing product information, demoing products, and making personalized recommendations. Train, coach, reward, and motivate associates to improve selling and the customer experience. Reinforce selling expectations, performance, results, and accountability with all associates. All store positions require constant physical activity, including standing, walking, reaching, and lifting. Associates are expected to climb ladders, lift, reach, bend, and kneel to obtain products for customers and to maintain the visual appearance of the store. Associates should be able to lift 10 pounds consistently and up to 50 pounds. Consistently provide the most safe, clean, and engaging experience by adhering to all safety standards and expectations.
