ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operations
Maintain and manage grain quality and quantity for specified locations
Monitor and control grain discounts and expenses for specified locations
Monitor grain dryer operations for specified locations
Coordinate the daily logistics of grain and products the specified facilities
Prepare to execute a weekly facility-specific shipping schedule
Conduct and document physical inspections of grain condition and quality at all specified locations
Complete monthly facility size ups by the end of the second working day of each month
Monitor the blending process of grain for delivery
Provide training to grain operators to improve grades, reduce discounts, and eliminate the chance of rejected loads.
Work alongside the Grain OperationsManager in the creation of standard operating procedures
Manage the implementation and utilization of standard operation procedures
Repair and Maintenance
Maintain facility housekeeping, preventive maintenance, and other required documentation
Schedule and document equipment preventive and necessary maintenance
Maintain company assets
Provide input on needed projects and improvements
When directed, oversee grain facility upgrades and building projects
Review and prioritize repair orders with grain operations staff
Provide a yearly maintenance schedule for all locations and document progress weekly
Assist in Dekra RCI implementation
Train Grain Operators to be proficient with Dekra RCI
Safety
Lead by example and promote a positive safety culture
Ensure that all work practices are completed in a safe manner and promote safety amongst employees and customers
Prepare a Job Safety Analysis and submit for approval prior to beginning work on special projects
Provide training and monitor the activities of all outside contractors and visitors
Meet compliance with all federal, state, local, and company safety policies
Enforce all safety policies and initiatives
Personnel
Manage and schedule grain operations personnel for specified locations
Hire and train location Grain Operations Employees; full time, part time, and seasonal
Notify the Grain OperationsManager of personnel issues
Assist the Grain OperationsManager with disciplinary actions of supervised employees
Conduct performance reviews to supervised employees a minimum of 2 times per year
Coach and motivate employees
Encourage strong team morale
Provide a daily labor and task schedule to all employees and Grain OperationsManager
Accounting
Assist in controlling grain department facility costs
Assist in monitoring, approving, and signing off on grain department accounts payables
Provide input for fiscal year grain department budget
Control overtime expenses
Miscellaneous
Communicate and document progress updates to Grain OperationsManager weekly
Facilitate weekly group staff meetings
Act in a manner that helps promote a positive image for Maplehurst Farms and contributes to great customer service
