What Does A Senior Performance Engineer Do At Accenture

* This role will be responsible for the following Performance Tuning the ALIP software platform in all technical areas, including software performance, application server tuning, database tuning, and messaging optimization.
* Work with client team members to understand and diagnose difficult performance issues and provide fixes and positive results
* Build out and enhance the performance testing plan for the ALIP software base.
* Manage the IDC performance testing team, whose responsibilities would include running routine client performance tests, debugging and resolving performance issues from the routine testing
* Interface with clients to solve hot button performance issues at client sites
* Function as a first responder for clients experiencing performance issues
* Maintain and update any documentation pertaining to performance tuning and testing the ALIP platform.
* Conduct project and issue management status reporting and issue reporting Client Travel as needed

* The Senior Performance Engineer will:
* Collaborate closely with engineers, architects, business analysts, product owners and other team members to determine appropriate performance SLAs for all changes (new features as well as updates)
* Appreciate application architecture, application behavior and usage profile for applications under test and devise the appropriate performance test strategy and schedule
* Be responsible to design and create performance tests based on the agreed upon acceptance criteria.

* Mentors and directs diverse teams of investigators and subject matter experts in performing Root Cause Investigations (RCI) of significant incidents. #CD# Participates in selected investigations. #CD# 25
* Trains and mentors personnel at various levels across the organization in conducting Apparent Cause Evaluation (ACE) investigations (lower level significance) of incidents. #CD# 20
* Collects and analyzes company-wide performance data derived from investigations and other sources and provide conclusions and recommendations to the Vice Presidents, Directors, and managers. #CD# Interfaces with Senior Management to provide recommendations for improvement in solving human performance issues and for improvement of Human Performance and Performance Assessment processes. #CD# 20
* Provides mentoring and quality oversight of Human Performance improvement initiatives, assisting in plan development and implementation. #CD# Provides coaching and mentoring of VPs, Directors and Managers in the use of the Change Management Model for sponsoring and implementing significant process or program changes. #CD# 20

* POSITION SPECIFICATIONS
* Minimum:
* Technical background includes a 4-year technical degree with 5
* years industrial experience or in lieu of Bachelors degree, a minimum of 9
* years relevant business experience is required.
* Supervisory experience is preferred, including second line supervision level, project management, team direction, peer challenging, and senior leadership interface.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills are a must, as is an ability to rapidly organize and analyze complex and diverse situations and large amounts of data.
* Special Training or Technical Skill required include basic knowledge of transmission, distribution and industrial systems and equipment. #CD# Proficient computer skills to include all MS Office Applications and PassPort Action Tracking.
* Experience and training in Root Cause Analysis preferred. #CD# Proven analytical/problem solving experience required
* Working conditions require frequent travel to various Delivery locations and a mobile work environment.
* Most work is performed independently, divided according to assigned cognizant functional areas or VPs or project scope.
* Leadership and supervisory activities involve mentoring and process-directing the whole of the organization divided by areas of cognizance.
* Decision making accountabilities affect process changes, resource allocation, and budgetary impact at the department level.
* Most interactions are at the Director/Superintendent level but involve working with and mentoring personnel at all levels from senior VP to bargaining unit.
* This position reports to the Performance Assessment Manager with indirect reporting to all VPs in Delivery operations and some other Delivery organizations.
