We are currently seeking a Sr. Android Performance Engineer to join our Vehicle Infotainment team. This position requires designing, implementing, and delivery of framework components for in-vehicle software system. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches his or her work with vigor and determination. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, to possess the ability to learn quickly and to strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment.
The Role:Design, implement, and deliver framework components for in-vehicle software system Work with application software engineers, user experience team and BSP/kernel team to create a modular and extensible system Work with other ECU teams in the company to deliver end-to-end project functionality Work with 3rd parties, especially tier1 vendors to integrate and develop corresponding features for in-vehicle software system Diagnose, analyze, and resolve relevant issues based on testing, and user validation
Qualifications:5+ years of industry experience in Android development and/or embedded Linux environment, and proven industry experience of shipping Android software products Good understanding of Android frameworks including the general application framework and native framework Good understanding of Android performance optimization tools and methods Experience in analyzing and fixing issues for system/app bootup time, memory leaking, ION memory usage, system crashes etc.Ability to lead and help system and App design to follow best performance practices Experience coding with C, C++ (C++ 11/14/17 preferred) , and Java
Preferred:Experience in automotive especially infotainment system is optional but preferred
Education:Bachelors or Masters in the areas of Computer Science, Computer engineering, Electrical engineering or other related fields

Requirements:At least 5 years of experience in Performance Analysis and troubleshooting of production systems Domain expert on public cloud, distributed system, micro services architecture and capacity planning Experienced in Performance engineering design, implementing, and automating benchmarks Proven experience in performance, scalability analysis and optimizations Demonstrated knowledge of systems software and understand the impact of locking, caching and I/O on software performance Proven Performance tuning experience for infrastructure, platforms, and application Proven track record in bringing clarity to ambiguous situations. Ability to facilitate and arbitrate technical discussions, and to make challenging calls or recommendations; Work well in a distributed team environment BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience

About our Quality Assurance Team:

Our QA team has end-to-end ownership to build a quality product. Through automation and functional testing, they validate a variety of products to offer our customers a seamless banking experience.

As a Performance Engineer, you will work directly with our product teams and will be responsible for ensuring that new features and application changes meet performance requirements. You will create and maintain performance testing and analysis scripts using a variety of tools. Within your first year, you will develop an understanding of how to deliver high performing software at the pace of feature development. You will work in an environment that promotes ownership at all levels including delivery and monitoring in Production.

Our Core Technologies Include:
Java, Scala, Gatling, Springboot, REST API, Prometheus, Grafana, Honeycomb, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Docker, AWS, Kafka
What You'll Do: Develop new performance simulations at the pace of feature development through our built in performance test framework using Gatling.Understand software architecture, debug issues, analyze log files, traces, dumps, etc. Using this knowledge to identify areas of improvement, and making infrastructure or code changes to improve performance.Provide comprehensive performance test strategies to the product teams for the creation and execution of performance and load tests, and generate periodic performance reports for cross-team review.Deploy microservices by spinning up disposable environments in Kubernetes to configure and execute performance tests.Conduct performance profiling, identify key metrics for monitoring, and ensure high availability for our applications by improving capacity, reliability and scalability of the system performance and overseeing the life cycle, performing root cause analysis and suggesting corrective actions for issues.Monitor, troubleshoot and run synthetic tests right in production, after having identified improvements and executing simulations.
What We Look For: Knowledge in Agile methodology and API performance/load testing tools like Gatling.Ability to analyze tiered web architectures, point out performance bottlenecks, limitations, optimizations and resolutions.Experience with performance, scalability and reliability testing methodologies.Experience with testing high quality, high availability customer facing applications.Knowledge with performance monitoring counters such as response time, throughput, latency, and memory.Experience with Honeycomb, SumoLogic, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar observability tools.
