The Role

The base salary range for this position is $125,000-258,000 USD per year.

In this role, you will lead a product team to be advocates and bring passion and empathy for helping some of the hardest working people on the planet - Cat customers and dealers.
Through partnership with our customers, dealers, business partners, as well as peer product and engineering teams, you will shape digital strategies, roadmaps, and experiences that both transform and simplify our customers' day-to-day work and how they interact with the Cat brand, products and services. This will be accomplished by first seeking to understand our customers' needs and workflow, as well as our business objectives. You will then translate those needs into compelling experiences, requirements, and ultimately execution of a roadmap through multiple scrum teams.

What You Will Do:
* Manage the lifecycle of a product by leading multidisciplinary teams and providing vision on what is to be built, domain knowledge, and direction in alignment with Cat's goals
* Act as the key decision-maker regarding what features the product will have and ensuring clear communication of those priorities to team, taking ownership for the success and quality of your product
* Lead a team of product owners - consistently providing guidance, feedback, and coaching
* Ensure we have deep understanding of customers and their processes (triggers, steps, roles, outcomes) by partnering to drive and execute a mixed-methods research strategy/roadmap
* Help frame and plan new opportunities - articulating the problem or opportunity to be addressed, the impact, and assumptions and risks to be considered/mitigated
* Build tight collaboration and understanding of stakeholder needs and business goals - at times facilitating solutioning and brainstorming activities to transform broad ideas and concepts into clear goal alignment and desired customer requirements/experiences.
* Lead definition of major experience elements - covering the logic, structure, skeleton, and relationships of how an experience should come together across functions/domains

Software Change Request Management: Knowledge of software change request management; ability to manage software product change requests from customers, prospective customers, vendors, and internal staff..
Software Engineering: Knowledge of software engineering; ability to deliver new or enhanced fee-based software products.
Software Product Business Knowledge: Knowledge of and experience with the business aspects and operation of a software product; ability to manage install base, current uses, future plans, and product vision.
Software Product Management: Knowledge of software product management; ability to operate and manage software product development projects at all stages of the product development lifecycle.
Software Product Technical Knowledge: Knowledge of technical aspects of a software products; ability to design, configure and integrate technical aspects of software products.
Marketing Strategy and Positioning: Knowledge of market research, segmentation, and channels; ability to use business models to develop and implement marketing strategies, objectives, and tactics as well as establishing a communications plan.
Considerations For Top Candidates:
* Four year Bachelor's Degree preferably in HCI, computer science, marketing, psychology, ethnography, UX, engineering or related field or equivalent working experience
* Digital product management, user experience, user research, digital strategy, or related function
* Experience applying human-centered design, lean innovation, or design thinking methodologies
* Superb communication, presentation, storytelling, interpersonal, and analytical skills
* Ability to work well within multiples teams including business/commercial partners, cross- product portfolio, development, and field facing arms of an organization - aligning differing viewpoints and priorities & objectives along the way
* Strong accountability, planning, and organizational skills
* Ability to consider multiple variables of a decision and prioritize accordingly in a fast-paced environment
* Experience working in an Agile environment while simultaneously managing multiple priorities
* Prior experience as supervisor and/or team lead
* Experience managing projects using Product Management and/or Agile software tools such as Aha, ProductBoard, Azure DevOps, JIRA, Team Services, Rally
* Displayed understanding of common and emerging UX and user research methodologies/artifacts
* Experience utilizing a variety of experience mapping techniques based on need (user story mapping, object mapping (OOUX), assumption mapping, etc.)
* Strong design background with proven ability to lead, partner, and guide product design decisions
* Good knowledge of Caterpillar policies, standards, procedures, and a broad understanding of Caterpillar's organization

Summary Pay Range:
$144,960.00 - $235,440.00
