About the Role

We're looking for a detail-obsessed Packaging Production Designer to translate concepts into production-ready files across our licensed consumer packaged goods portfolio (pet and home categories). You'll be the bridge between design, product management, licensors, and factories-ensuring every dieline, spec, and artwork handoff is accurate, on time, and on brand.
What You'll Do
Partner with Product Managers to confirm specs, timelines, and task details are complete and correct.
Traffic, track, and deliver final artwork on schedule; maintain version control.
Ensure all designs meet internal brand standards and licensing partners' brand guidelines (color, typography, claims, legal, and packaging hierarchies).
Prepare impeccable production files: correct dielines, bleeds, layers, color profiles, barcodes/GTINs, callouts, and linked assets; package files for factory use.
Approve factory samples and digital proofs.
Participate in quarterly competitive shopping trips; synthesize trends and opportunities into actionable packaging updates.
Coordinate with external vendors (prepress, printers, factories) when necessary to resolve technical issues and optimize outcomes (materials, finishes, cost).
What You'll Bring
3-5+ years in packaging production or design for CPG (licensed brands a plus).
Expert in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop; comfortable with Acrobat preflight, color management, and packaging mockup tools.
Strong understanding of print processes (flexo, litho, digital), materials, color systems (CMYK, spot/Pantone), and sustainability considerations.
Demonstrated mastery of dielines, structural files (shippers and merchandisers), and factory-ready art packaging.
Working knowledge of PLM/PM tools (e.g., Asana, Monday.com) and digital asset management.
Meticulous attention to detail, excellent organization, and deadline discipline across high-volume SKUs.
Clear communicator able to collaborate with PMs, licensors, and international factories.
Portfolio demonstrating production-ready packaging is required.
Nice to Have
Experience in pet or home-care categories (toys, treats, grooming, odor control, laundry/tabletop/dishwashing)
Basic knowledge of regulatory/claims (FNS, CPSIA, Proposition 65, recycling symbols, country of origin).

A Successful FASTSIGNS Graphics Designer / Sign Production Specialist Will:
Create computer-generated full-color graphics and/or vinyl output that can be printed and mounted to a substrate or weeded, cut and applied
Complete or modify designs from customer drawings, files, or exact output of customer-provided design for output to media
Determine size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy, select style and size of type, and arrange layout based upon available space, aesthetic design, and production requirements.
Inspect jobs for accuracy before sending them to output. Ensure correct material is used for each job and output device settings are accurate
Maintain customer logo library; convert graphic files
Follow a layout to place computer-cut vinyl or full-color graphic image(s) on a predetermined substrate or medium
Prepare substrates for vinyl application to include cutting, painting, laminating, cleaning, etc
Weed excess vinyl from computer-cut images. Weeding techniques vary with size, type of vinyl, and complexity of images
Operate and maintain large format printer, plotting machine, and laminator
Perform quality assurance measures pre- and post-production by accurately reading and interpreting a Work Order and then proofing for errors or unacceptable standards
Perform finishing operations such as laminating and/or mounting of printed pieces
Report inventory levels and stock to be reordered to the center manager/production manager or franchisee
Interact with Customer by phone or face to face
Clean and maintain work areas
Ideal Qualifications for FASTSIGNS Graphics Designer / Sign Production Specialist:
2-3 years of BOTH Graphic Design Experience and Sign Production Experience
High School diploma or equivalent
Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Onyx Print Software
Ability to prioritize jobs, multi-task, and work autonomously
Determine the best output method based on the customers needs
Sit and view a computer screen for long periods (4 hours or more)
Ability to work under pressure to output high volume, high-quality work
Ability to stand for long periods of time (4 hours or more)
Ability to lift 50 or more pounds
Flexibility to lean over a waist-high table and use back and forth hand motion to apply vinyl letters and graphics to a substrate

exhibit. This model includes up to 20 electric trains, 8 streetcars, and 4 inclines that share 50 years of Cincinnati history. This position works to care for the exhibit through proper operating techniques and repairing locomotives, rolling stock, as well as associated electrical and mechanical components. This position also creates a fun and engaging environment by interpreting the model and sharing their knowledge of the model trains and the history of the city with guests. Responsibilities and Duties
Daily operation of exhibit includes start up, shut down and monitoring to ensure smooth operation of exhibit.
Troubleshoot and repair model locomotives, including basic electrical work and small motor repair.
Contribute to the cleanliness of model train components, track, and overall model
Engage with the public as an exhibit interpreter answering questions and highlighting areas of special interest.
Qualifications and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience. Technical degree or working toward technical certification a plus.
1-2 years' experience with basic tools such as hand or power drill, hand saw, pliers, scale rule.
Interest, knowledge of and/or previous experience with modeling and model railroading preferred.
Experience with scenery molding and construction, model layout, basic building and design a plus.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Basic electrical skills, mechanical and/or engineering knowledge and model-building skills desired.
Must be able to multi-task, prioritize creative problem solving.
Must have good communication and interpersonal skills and be willing to work with a diverse group of people.
Self-motivated and able to work without close supervision.
Demonstrated ability to differentiate between different gauges and scales among the model.
Ability to communicate knowledge of the model and its components to the public in an informative and engaging way.
Additional Requirements and Working Conditions
Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
Must be able to crawl under or walk on top of model layout with tight spaces.
Time is spent working on the exhibit floor maintaining the model while the museum is open to the public and repairing components in a workshop setting.
Note that the exhibit gallery contains areas of low and special effect lighting as well as ambient and interactive audio components and the workshop contains sounds of moving components on the model layout as well as sound of various tools.
