Overview
The Senior Production Scheduler plans and establishes daily and weekly production schedules. This role monitors material inventory, tracks progress of production, and reviews factors, which affect schedules. This leader is responsible for analyzing and interpreting data to drive production efficiencies. This role will also include work order planning, scheduling, capacity monitoring and planning, and transfer order planning. Additional duties will include revising and rescheduling orders when necessary and collaborating with Business process areas to achieve Business objectives in MRP environment. This role will be responsible for maintain accurate BOMS, routing, and components scheduling in the MRP database. This leader will also oversee the Scheduling department and have direct responsibility for the Production Scheduler and Clerk.
Responsibilities

We are looking for a Sr. Production Planner to join our Logistics group at our Rancho Cordova, CA location. This is an on-site position. We will assist with relocation.
Evaluates and calculates material and capacity constraints in order to assist the production managers and engineers in developing short to mid-range material and capacity plans.
Coordinates and communicates with appropriate manufacturing managers, product managers, and engineers the production schedules in accordance with the Production Plan.
Initiates, publishes and distributes the required documentation generated from the Oracle E-Business Suite ERP system (v 11i).
Ensures that all related raw material(s) and components are scheduled, available and QA released prior to releasing to manufacturing. Interfaces with Purchasing, Quality Assurance and Warehouse for verification of raw material availability. Manages and monitors Material Requirement Plans in Oracle E-Business Suite ERP system (v 11i).
Ensures raw material inventory is available when needed to support manufacturing. Ensures inventory accuracy and inventory control goals are met. Maintain inventory turns for raw materials as agreed upon with management.
Responsible for tracking and taking appropriate inventory control actions regarding short dated or expired finished goods and WIP inventories.
Responsible for tracking, analyzing and presenting plant performance data. Ensures that all material and capacity analysis is done in a timely manner so that management can make accurate the best long term plans for overall plant loading.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree, or a technical degree plus significant related work experience. APICS certification highly preferred
Experience:
Minimum 7 years experience in Material Management, particularly in inventory planning, forecasting and both short and long term planning. Minimum 3 years direct master schedule experience in a “make to order” environment.
Skills:
Required understanding of an MRPII system in the pharmaceutical industry.
