What You'll Do

Production Technician - Blending (2nd Shift)

Job Description
Responsible for blending activities during the shift and to maintain high morale and work standards and strive to achieve company goals.
Responsibilities:
For all production positions, it is understood that all will be responsible for housekeeping of work areas, assisting with clean downs, following the Quality plans, following proper safety procedures, wearing the proper personal protective equipment, waste and yield loss control, understanding of all safety related procedures and ISO guidelines, completion of all documentation, proper material handling procedures, following good manufacturing practices, and coverage of the other positions for breaks, lunches and vacation/sick, as deemed necessary by the Production Supervisor.
Blender

Responsible for blending all ingredients listed on the mixsheet according to the mixing guidelines. This also includes proper identification of the blends. Responsible for operation of the container mixers and replinishment of blend on the production lines as needed. Responsible for cleaning of blender, resin handling system and work areas. Must accurately complete all blend process electronic documentation. Assist with clean downs in extrusion when available.

Must successfully pass a company physical.
Able to lift up to 70 lbs.
Be capable of twisting, bending, stooping, standing, walking, stepping, climbing or otherwise moving from one location on the job site to another, sometimes using steps or ladders.
Be able to work in adverse weather conditions/temperatures.

Providing leadership to a production maintenance staff of 27 technicians performing day-to-day preventative and reactive maintenance. Ensuring production goals are met with the highest quality output and equipment is in good operating condition, minimizing downtime and production part rejects by:
Being attentive to your team, ensuring clarity of expectations and providing training and coaching as needed
Providing leadership through performance planning using Continuous Improvement Discussions to ensure achievement of departmental targets
Developing and maintaining budgets
Accurately and timely reporting of assigned KPIs
Coordinating maintenance/repair improvement projects and ordering the necessary parts for projects in order to contribute to reducing reject rates and cycle times
Conducting, delegating, and developing training programs for technicians
Ensuring maximum machine efficiency by addressing problems and theorizing improvement ideas
Delegating, supervising and reporting of Continuous Improvement Activities
Preparing and presenting reports to management
Directing and/or attending PDCA meetings
Attending or conducting interviews for potential new hires
Delegating and participating in daily maintenance/repair duties
Monitoring compliance in regard to ordering parts for inventory, repairs, and improvement projects, ensuring targets are met

Managing the department's spare parts system in the Maximo Computer Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) to ensure replacement parts availability and to maintain adequate stocking levels.
Managing the Preventative Maintenance (PM) generation and scheduling system in the Maximo CMMS including creating and modifying Job Plans, PM tasks, and Asset assignments.
Generating & posting Downtime and PM Completion charts and updating them on a monthly basis.
Monitoring department task board and ensure tasks are completed on time.
Ensuring department's maintenance areas cleanliness meet expectations and follows Lean 2S3D rules.
Addressing any other issues and assume other responsibilities as they pertain to improving Quality, Cost, Delivery and Development.
