The Senior Project Manager - Construction Services will lead construction management project execution, business development and functional resource management in the NY Metropolitan area. This includes developing and maintaining client relationships to win and replace work; incrementally grow and diversify the NY Construction Services business; managing the scope, schedule, budgets and quality of construction management projects, oversight and guidance for project managers and technical staff; preparing scopes of work, schedules and cost estimates for proposals.
Responsibilities:

Staff Oversight Utilization by scheduling, monitoring and revising assignments. Financial management, client relations; resolving personnel and performance issues. Satisfy project requirements by ensuring that quality standards and deadlines are met. Write winning technical and cost proposals. Performance Reviews. Recruitment/Retention. Succession planning. Participate in internal and external professional development activities. Collaborate with the Regional and National Practice Leads, as well as construction managers from other Michael Baker International offices. Some evenings will be spent at professional society meetings developing and maintaining relationships with key clients, teaming partners and potential staff hires. Be part of a dynamic team responsible for expanding the Construction Services practice currently servicing city, state and federal clients.


PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS



Bachelor's Degree and 20+ yrs of relevant experience working on and managing construction projects with city, state and federal agencies in NY. Professional Engineering license in NY. Experience managing a diverse staff of inspectors, field engineers, office engineers, and resident engineers is required. Must show demonstrated ability to develop proposals and win new work with the following clientele: NYSDOT, NYC DDC, DEP, EDC, NYCHA, US Army Corps of Engineers, Federal Agencies (FEMA, DHS, DOD, NPS, HUD). Experience with Design Build, public and private sector development/capital infrastructure projects. Strong writing, verbal presentation, project and resource management skills are required. Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Project, Access).


COMPENSATION


The salary range for this position is $150 ,067 - $175,000. This will be dependent on the experience and expertise of the incoming candidate.

Responsible for quality projects being built on time and within budget. Ensure scope changes are processed and incorporated into the current scope of work in a timely manner. Provides material takeoff, estimate and pricing for changes to work scope. Establishes and executes subcontracts and equipment buy-outs to support schedules and budgets. Develops and keeps current all project schedules. Ensures all schedules mesh with the master project schedule and resolves conflicts when they occur. Prepares and submits monthly contract billings to ensure proper cash flow during contract performance. Protects the company's interest by managing all financial aspects of the contract. Completes project closeout/inactivation within prescribed period including the final project billing to obtain full funding. Manages conflict resolution with customers, vendors, trades or Partners. Leads and manages other project managers. Provides leadership, shares technical expertise and experience to other Partners. Identifies and develops policies and procedures for continuous aggressive improvement. Assembles estimates for projects. Visits job sites or onsite offices, performs work inspections, checks job progress, and resolves project and contract issues.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Construction Sciences, Mechanical Engineering or similar engineering degree is required.
7+ years of commercial mechanical construction experience with HVAC and Plumbing.
Experience managing projects in industrial or manufacturing settings is a plus.
Experience in successfully leading projects and programs, on-schedule and within budget. Interpersonal skills to influence and spur change, facilitate and enhance performance within a cross functional environment. Proven ability to demonstrate a drive for results and accountability of business needs. Demonstrate decisiveness in resolving business problems, making decisions and identifying priorities.
