In this position you will lead Development projects in the West region, specifically in Arizona and New Mexico, from beginning to end, including overseeing cross functional teams across the NextEra Energy Resources organization. You will be working with leadership within Development, in order to drive origination and business development efforts directly impacting NextEra Energy's bottom line. Beyond the requirements below, you will also be responsible for presenting your projects and updates to Development leadership, and providing your input and expertise on a daily basis to Subject Matter Experts as the project leader of a collaborative and dynamic team. You will travel across our sites to gain expertise in the regional energy market, the project itself, and the local community. You will be given the chance to dive into the process and progression of new and existing projects. Job Overview

As a Senior Civil Engineering Project Manager for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), you'll manage project teams to create land development plans for our commercial, institutional, and energy clients. From a hospital parking lot, to an entire lifestyle shopping center, you'll take part in managing projects, reviewing work products, quality control, client interfacing, budgeting, and mentoring and supervising junior engineers. In managing junior engineers, you will review the design aspects which will include site layouts, grading plans, stormwater management facilities, water quality best management practices, and utilities. Interacting with clients, contractors, local government officials, you'll impact the whole project - from conceptual and design phases, through the regulatory review process, bidding, and construction, all the way to the grand opening.
+ 12+ years experience working in the Land Development Sector;

+ BS/MS in Civil Engineering OR Landscape Architecture;

+ Professional Registration or ability to gain licensure;

+ Ability to speak and write professionally;

+ Experienced in AutoCAD/Civil 3D, Excel, Word, HEC-RAS and other computer modeling software a plus;

+ Local connections with developers, architects, energy clients, or other land development arenas.

We are currently seeking a Senior Project Manager/Business Developer in our Southwest Region, to be based in Texas or New Mexico. The successful candidate will spearhead the development of new projects and client relationships, service existing clients, and drive the success of business in Texas and surrounding states. The successful candidate will also work alongside our existing Southwest Principals and other senior staff members to successfully navigate a variety of federal, state, and municipal ordinances for our clients.
Responsibilities:
Perform market research to identify new opportunities and create strategic plans to pursue market targets
Cultivate and negotiate new business platforms in the Texas region
Develop proposals for existing and new clients
Network internally and externally to generate new market and business opportunity leads

Qualifications
Advanced degree (Master's/Ph.D.) and professional accreditation required
Minimum of 10 years of applicable experience in archaeology, history, or architectural history including business development, technical, project, or program management roles within an environmental, engineering, or cultural consulting firm
Prior experience in Southwest preferred
Knowledge of federal, tribal, and state regulations pertaining to cultural resources
Ability to travel to meet with clients, explore new markets and attend industry conferences and trade shows
Robust interpersonal and leadership skills
Solid written and verbal communication skills
