Senior quality assurance analyst job description

Responsible for the planning, integration, test casing, scripting and execution of all testing to ensure proper coverage;Schedules and leads test deliverables review sessions as necessary;Work on multiple projects/systems as a project team member and are considered to be a subject matter expert for a single project/system. These projects are of moderate to high complexity within one or more development environments; Collaborate with the BSA and Development teams in the analysis and review of business objectives and requirements to ensure requirements are testable; Actively participate in the review of architectural and technical design specifications;Develop, document and maintain the test data, data validation, end to end testing flows.;Conducts testing using HNB manual and/or automated test processes and reports results;May run database queries in order to supply data validation within test scripts; Updates test cases based upon approved change requests;Works with BSAs and Development teams on defect analysis and triage; Assigns defect severity, and manages defects throughout the project;Works with colleagues and project managers to meet established target dates and completion of activities/deliverables under changing conditions;Creates test status reports per project guidelines;Creates test results and test summary deliverables to ensure production implementation readiness; Creates and facilitates review of the Test Strategy with the project team; Identifies any potential quality issues per defined processes and escalates potential quality issues immediately to management;Collects testing sign-off from all testing participants, including cross-impacted application teams;Ensures all aspects of testing, such as manual execution, regression, automation and performance testing, is completed; Collaborates with Project Test Lead on estimating the test efforts;Collaborates with the project team to support UAT efforts as needed; Maintains the regression test bed to meet changing requirements; Participates in off-hour production releases as needed;Supports the project's warranty period as needed;Works under moderate supervision with some latitude for independent judgement and problem solving;Provides mentorship to junior team members as needed; Understands and follows the project lifecycle methodology consistently.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree.Minimum of 5 years of QA testing experience; 2 of those years being in an agile approach role

Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer science or equivalent discipline preferred.
• 5 or more years' experience in Software Quality Assurance
• Programming experience and /or experience creating automated testing scripts
• Must have strong SQL skills with MS SQL server
• In depth Knowledge of Software Quality Assurance best practices, methodologies, procedures, and tools.
• In depth Knowledge of software testing types and methods, which may include White, Black, regression, functional, system and integration testing, etc.
• Self-starter, with ability to perform QA duties with minimal supervision.
• Effective communicator with ability to coordinate effectively between developers and business users.
• Excellent Analytical skills.
• Detailed understanding of the software development lifecycle, including agile methodologies. Preferred experience with Agile-Scrum Methodology.
• Ability to multi-task, manage multiple projects and work in a fast-paced environment.

2-5 yrs exp Full-time professional work experience in Information Technology project development and/or Function/Business Process Analysis. Substitutions: Accredited college training may substitute for the required work experience, with a maximum substitution of four (4) years. (Fifteen (15) semester hours in Information Technology or a related area is required.) Accredited graduate training in the above area may substitute for the required work experience, with a maximum substitution of two (2) years. Successfully completion of an Information Technology Certification program, may substitute for the required work experience with a maximum substitution of two (2) years. SCOPE OF WORK
The Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) Application Tester is responsible for system
testing, User Acceptance Testing, and requirements validation of the Client Information
Sharing System (CISS), and any other system managed by CJIS. The CJIS Application Tester is
also responsible for understanding all of the areas of the system and providing institutional
knowledge of its design and operation.
Specific Services Required
Creating test use cases, doing the testing, creating the testing results reports, and
implementing the testing needed by the project managers
Providing documented processes to the testing team in the implementation of
the required testing
Supporting the resolution of defects found during testing and providing general
testing process consultation to the project team
Working on testing activities for new releases for the CJIS team and CJIS
stakeholders.
Developing presentations for stakeholders, officials, and other interested parties
when requested by the Management
Reporting test results, documenting reported defects to test lead. Entering the
defects in defect management tool
Ability to validate Traceability Matrix to contractual requirements
Quality Assurance Analyst – Level 2
Required Skills/Experience
The candidate must have the following skills or experience:
Bachelor of Science in Computer Technology, exposure to programming in a
3rd generation languages and knowledge of software design patterns
5 to 7 years of experience as a tester for IT projects
Experience in NIEM XML or other complex XML Standard
Experience in testing web services manually using Soap UI/Postman
Working knowledge of IBM Rational Jazz Suite is a plus
An ability to understand the complexity of a large integrated system and to trace
problems to their source
Experience with SOA technologies
Experience in scripting complex SQ queries (Microsoft SQL server)
Proficient in MS Excel
Work cooperatively with other Team Members including Team Leader/Manager,
Developers, Testers, Designers and others
