Job Description

This team is responsible for a money movement application. The app moves billions of dollars a day. It is highly critical. To describe the application, it has 16 user roles, so regression testing is a bear because of that. It moves money to federal reserve. On heavy payments dates, it move billions of dollars. Annually this app moves 2 trillion dollars a year. It is very large and very complex application. The team is a bit more mature in test automation using Selenium, but this is a very basic manual testing role. We are looking for someone with manual testing experience and some experience with automation testing, preferably Selenium, who is willing to learn automation testing and grow in that direction. Any hands on experience with any test automation tool is desired, but this is a manual testing role. Any past development experience would be fantastic, particularly java. This app has a lot of file movement. Being comfortable with MDM testing, excel file upload testing is important. Candidates should have MQ and web services experience as well. Being proficient at manual testing, end to end, is important and demonstrated performance writing test scripts, test plans. We are agile, so hands on experience with Jira and ALM is important.

Duties and responsibilities

Do you love playing games? Are you an arcade gaming fan? Are you an experienced tester of Android devices? If so, we would love to talk to you.

This role will be responsible for testing and quality assurance of ii Rcade arcade device, platform and the games. Additionally, this role will be responsible for defining, validating and preparing the games for launch. This person may also mentor other game testers and perform other tasks that may be needed by the company from time to time.

Quality assurance and testing ii Rcade arcade device (HW, SW, Cabinet), platform, games. Will be playing a lot of games!

Preparation of games for launch

Defining quality assurance and game launch preparation processes, test procedures and plans

Creating test automation

Creating various software tools

Playing games and recommend new games to bring to ii Rcade

Modifying or fixing arcade cabinets, PCB boards, creating prototypes of new gaming machine and game play concepts

Documentation, graphics and video creations and editing for various activities

Be creative, think outside the box, and come up with ideas that may help the company and execute these ideas. Be a part of changing the world!

Mentoring other testers. Be a leader!

Requirements

Minimum 5 years of Android device testing experiences

Minimum 5 years of Android device debugging tool experiences such as ADB

Minimum 10 years of hardcore gaming and arcade gaming experiences

Experiences in testing and debugging Android games, applications, OS is a huge plus

Experiences in Tools development is a huge plus

Experiences in creating test automation is a huge plus

Experiences in electronics and circuit board repairing and soldering is a huge plus

Android game testing experiences a huge plus

Arcade gaming experiences and knowledge of the arcade hardware, software, industry is a huge plus. We are looking for arcade gaming guru!

Experiences in building arcade cabinets is a huge plus

Experiences in Android app development and/or web development and AWS is a huge plus

Experiences in setting up local servers is a huge plus

Photoshop, graphics creation, video creation and editing skills are a huge plus

ABOUT THE POSITION

The eCommerce team develops new features and functionality for the Columbia Sportswear Company brand websites. This includes working with and becoming an expert in, the underlying platforms, our merchandising and marketing tools, and our product management functionality. All the technology in our ecosystem is focused on the consumer; they are at the center of everything we do. The eCommerce team is known for relentless improvement.

The eCommerce Technology team is looking for a Sr Quality Assurance Tester. They will have a strong understanding of the underlying platforms and how they interact. They will be able to work with limited guidance on ambiguous and complex issues. They will know how to use a variety of advanced testing tools and methods. They will be able to independently create automated test cases and work closely with our software engineers.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

* Leads others in planning and executing test strategies. Contributes to the professional development of colleagues, improving testing knowledge and engineering practices.

* Designs test strategies and applies effective solutions to test major portions of existing or new software. Works across boundaries to share requirements and acts as a key influencer of team strategy.

* Designs testing strategies and test criteria based on deliverables to achieve optimal test coverage. Coordinates efforts of multiple teams as needed.

* Solves difficult test problems by applying appropriate technologies and best practices. Proactively identifies and proposes solutions for deficiencies in test frameworks and tools.

* Uses data from the test process, deployment, and production to measure software quality and provides actionable improvement recommendations. Exercises full understanding of how to use data to derive insight into software quality.

* Works efficiently and effectively, leveraging proven test methods, redesigning, or implementing new methods when appropriate.

* Delegates work into parallel tasks to be performed by other professionals and to reassemble work successfully into the final product. Works with the project team to establish quality standards or metrics and identify risks, writes complex test plans, and provides solutions that are inventive, easily maintained, scalable, and extensible.

* Identifies and executes solutions that enable efficient regression testing. Exercises influence decisions made by other teams. Utilizes experience to identify and resolve problems that may have occurred previously.

YOU ARE

* An advocate for QA techniques and philosophies, that will be integrated into other business unit areas to improve downstream QA testing.

* Understands metrics and reports against them.

* Capable of providing quality stop gates.

* Advises technical and functional teams on release readiness of code for product and/or features tested.

* A solid communicator.

YOU HAVE

* Typically requires 5-8 years of professional experience and strong competency with the various tools, systems, or procedures required to accomplish the job.

* Authors and executes complex test cases and suites as part of regular production release cadence

* Strong experience with building regression and smoke testing suites

* Strong written and communication skills with attention to detail

* Strong familiarity with web technologies, browsers, operating systems, and mobile devices

* Ability to review functional/technical specifications with a focus on testability and quality improvements

* Experience aligning quality goals to business goals

* Proven success working collaboratively within cross-functional and distributed teams based on strong team spirit, solid work ethic and good communication skills
