In this role you will be responsible to:
+ Build, maintain, and run a continuous integration server, including writing test plans and Java unit, integration, functional, and coverage tests for both the server side and the client
+ Work closely with a small group of developers, being responsible for running our scientific software to identify bugs, write scripts to validate our software, and compile/deploy our software
+ Work internally and with our partners to help prepare, install, and validate our software in their environmen t
+ Produce software runtime and installation documentation
+ Identify bugs in desktop and server environments
+ Write test cases for evaluating software products
+ Build and validate software from a source code control system (subversion and git
+ Build and maintain a continuous integration and deployment server
+ Create and maintain Docker container configuration, build, and run file
+ Expertise with managing versions using version control software (subversion and git)
+ Capable of communicating with software developers to resolve issues in a timely fashion
+ Work with partners for the installation of software at a customer site, and provide periodic help desk support to those partner s
+ Identify risks to test planning and escalate risks to project manager
+ Inclination to analyze and debug test failures involving integration with third-party applications and frameworks
To be successful in this role, your background and experience should include:
+ Requires an Associates or BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related scientific or technical discipline
+ At least 4 years of on-the-job QA/QC experience
+ Knowledge of 3-tier architectures a plus, including one or more of the following architectures and/or languages: SQL, NoSQL, Python, R, REST, Docker, Java, J2EE, desktop application user interface toolkits (Swing, JavaFX)
+ Expertise with Jenkins or other Java build and integration environments
+ Expertise with Subversion and git
+ Experience with bug tracking
+ Experience working in Linux and Windows environments
+ Experience with test methodologies including writing functional unit, integration, system and regression test cases for server and browser-based, Java Swing, Java FX clients, and REST APIs.
+ Experience with test automation tools such as Selenium or Squish and building and maintaining data-driven test automation tools and frameworks
+ Experience with ISO compliance a plus
+ Developed practices identifying and clearly documenting defect and requirement discrepancies using bug tracking tools
+ Knowledge of Java, Python, SQL, bash, and Javascript. Knowledge of R optional but a plus.
+ Exposure to Bioinformatics, Biology, Structural Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, or similar field
+ Excellent written and oral communication skills
