Synthego is enabling genome engineering at scale with a blend of scientific instrumentation, industrial automation, and data science. Our team of scientists and engineers are putting multidisciplinary fields together to solve problems that no one field could tackle alone.

We are currently searching for a Senior Research Associate/Associate Scientist to help the Custom Engineered Cells program. This hands-on, lab-based role will be responsible for the generation of custom cell lines using Synthego's genome engineering reagents and technologies.
*This role is onsite. You must be able to commute to Redwood City, CA.
What You'll DoGenerate custom engineered cell lines (immortalized/cancer cell lines and/or hi PSCs) using CRISPR-Cas9Independently execute on production orders while adhering to production timelines and turn around times Operate robotic instrumentation including liquid handling systems, imaging tools and software Analyze imaging results and sequencing results as part of project execution Document project related design, progress, and results in LIMS real time Generate Quality Documents and Reports as part of project completion Provide project updates to Project Managers to ensure customers are up to date regarding order progress and expected delivery dates
About YouB.S or M.S in synthetic/molecular biology, biochemistry, or bioengineering3+ years of industry and/or academic wet lab experience including operating scientific instrumentation Experience culturing different mammalian cell types, including immortalized/cancer cell lines (both adherent and suspension) and human iPSCs/ESCs, at small scale (96-well plate to T-75 flasks) Experience with transfections, stable cell line generation and isolation of clonal cell populations Highly skilled in molecular biology including gDNA and RNA isolation, PCR and molecular cloning Hands-on cell line generation experience using CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing is highly preferred but not required Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Looking for an energetic and fast-paced startup environment

The Company:

FL86, Inc. is a privately held, early-stage company developing a novel genomics platform and therapeutics for diseases with a large unmet need.

Position Summary:

Drive and generate proof of concept data in disease relevant, translational immunological models aimed at establishing the translational science of FL86.

Responsibilities:

• Work with FL86 team to develop and apply novel disease specific cell-based and pharmacological models
• Execute cell-based assays to assess intracellular signaling pathways, the biological activity of small molecules and biologics in immune cells
• Conduct blood based and immune assays for pharmacodynamic monitoring and efficacy studies
• Critical data analysis, attention to detail, and troubleshooting abilities

Qualifications:

• B.S./M.S. in cell biology, molecular biology, pharmacology or similar technical fields
• > 5 years of experience in a biotech or pharmaceutical company (the title will be adjusted for the level of experience)
• Extensive hands-on experience in mammalian cell culture including primary cells and cell signaling
• Experience with the following techniques is highly preferred: Northern and Western blotting, RT-qPCR, cell culture, immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry and cell sorting
• Execution focused, team oriented, and highly motivated

• Cell biologist with immunology background

Celularity is a New Jersey-based clinical-stage cell therapeutics company striving to become a leader in cellular therapeutics. We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative Research Associate/Sr. Research Associate Scientist -Analytical Development to join our Analytical Team developing novel implantable biomaterials, cell, exosomes and other innovative biotherapeutics derived from postpartum tissue, applicable across unmet clinical needs.

The individual will conduct analytical and physico/mechanical product characterization to support process development efforts. This position will advance our ability to develop and transfer processes to GMP manufacturing, by providing analytical characterization of various biological modalities, including decellularized allograft tissues, natural/synthetic composite implantable devices, cells, and exosomes. This is an opportunity to develop experience in the rapidly expanding field of cell and gene therapy.
Responsibilities

* Perform biological and analytical assays towards characterization of extracellular matrix components within biomaterial scaffolds (enzymatic digestion, colorimetric or fluorescence - based assays, ELISA, SDS-PAGE, Western Blotting, BCA, etc.) and protein detection (e.g. Luminex, MSD, AlphaLISA).
* Under direction of the supervisor, perform product release, characterization, and stability testing activities supporting regulatory filing and approval across top priority projects.
* Implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for analytical methods towards development and characterization of decellularized biomaterial scaffolds, cell-based products, combination products, or exosomes.
* Carry out laboratory responsibilities including plan/coordinate/execute studies, analyze data, and have inputs as a specialist to programs in this lab-based scientific role.
* Provide written and oral scientific progress reports to Project Leader.
* Maintain laboratory records, electronic files, and laboratory notebooks to support experimental studies and intellectual property development.
* Adhere to company governing documents (policies, SOPs, work instructions, etc.).

Qualifications

* Associate Degree with 3+ years of industry lab experience or BS Degree with 1-3 years of laboratory experience or MS Degree with 0-1 years of laboratory experience. Degree in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemisty or related scientific disciplines preferred.
* Demonstrated scientific creativity, technical proficiency, and knowledge of scientific concepts.
* Experience in analytical requirements.
