The Manager - Generation & Support Group Safety is a manager with comprehensive knowledge of power generation processes, safety and training principles, practices, concepts, and theories. Assists in the development of safety programs and strategies with a focus on the safety and training of generation and support group teams. Responsible for establishing and meeting Corporate safety goals for generation operations. Achieves results by directing, overseeing, coordinating and maintaining safety related activities, procedures, and resourcing, and ensures they are in line with corporate and functional strategy. Works with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure the Cleco safety program is up to date, comprehensive and is protective of employees and contractors.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Champions a corporate culture that emphasizes transparency, integrity, safety, environmental responsibility, employee development, diversity and inclusion, customer service, and operational excellence.
+ Conduct annual kick off safety meetings to share previous year results and outline current year goals and expectations along with new initiatives.
+ Supports Corporate Safety Director and assists with the development of safety initiatives based on incident data. Provides safety updates on each respective facility or location of responsibility as needed to afford accurate reporting to the executive leadership team and/or company board. Reporting data to include but not limited to safety incidents, strategy, programs, initiatives, performance challenges, and action plans to address opportunities.
+ Works to ensure all safety related policies and procedures are in compliance with all applicable rules, laws and regulations.
+ Ensures human performance tools are utilized in generation daily activities and provides coaching as needed
+ Tracks leading indicators in Generation and Support to determine trends and safety gaps and develops and implements a safety strategy based on these trends.
+ Ensure consistent applicability of safety and health rules, regulations and procedure across all generation and support group areas.
+ Works to ensure that all injuries are properly recorded within the company and to outside agencies (OSHA, EEI, SEE, SWESE)

+ Conducts site visits to each assigned location to support the implementation and ownership of safety procedures, requirements, programs and initiatives.
+ Oversees the safety department's response to emergency situations and storm response within generation and support group functions.

+ Audit training curriculum and teaching methods for accuracy and effectiveness.
+ Work to improve overall safety culture and performance through EEI initiatives, including but not limited to monitoring, recording, auditing PSIF through the company. Developing and using identified precursors to eliminate hazards or LOWS that could lead to PSIFs.
+ Provides leadership, influence change and drive overall definition and execution of OSHA mandate training along with specific technical training. This is to include but not limited to: fork-lift, man-lift, CPR/AED/First aid, pole top rescue, flagger training etc.
+ Achieve results by planning and managing Generation and Support safety activities, training, procedures, and resourcing. Contribute to agile and complex projects necessitating the application of new and unique approaches, involves alignment to large strategic projects.
+ Owns and oversees the development of safety governance, standards, procedures and processes to ensure alignment with broader company goals and values.
+ Serve as escalation point for staff to report risks to delivery, ensuring business expectations, goals and objectives are understood and met across project teams. Escalate to functional leadership, when necessary.
+ Oversee and manage the performance of team, lead and guide the work of staff, monitor progress, develop their skills and hold them accountable to defined project milestones
+ Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical staff within their group.
