Confers with customers regarding capabilities, performance, and requirements of databases and supported applications. Assigns and manages employees to various projects and directs their activities. Reviews and evaluates work and prepares performance reports. Confers with and advises subordinates on administrative policies and procedures, technical problems, priorities, and methods.

Key responsibilities Manages small to large-sized database projects. Ensures projects are completed on time and according to corporate quality standards. Facilitates communication upward and across teams. Serves as a focal point for other departments on project status or other project information. Ensures projects are completed according to product specifications and are properly documented and implementation of the product satisfies the product specifications.
Experience 10+ years of SAP Basis experience and 5+ years End-Customer Support experience.
KnowledgeProven experience in leading database administration projects. Advanced Knowledge of the following tools SAP NetWeaver ABAP/JAVA, SAP S/4HANA, DB2, MSSQL, ORACLE, SYBASE, SAP Fiori, and all SAP-supported OS Platforms.Knows how to troubleshoot performance issues at the server, application, and database levels. Advanced knowledge of database, application, and server technologies. Detailed knowledge of supported SAP operating systems including Linux, Windows, Unix, and AS400. In-depth knowledge of SAP-supported virtualized environments such as VMWare and Hyper-V as well as Public Cloud IaaS offerings such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, IBM Bluemix, and Google Cloud Platform. Excellent organizational, leadership, decision-making, and communication skills. Ability to communicate technical info and ideas so others will understand. Ability to make appropriate decisions considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions. Ability to apply varying leadership skills and traits that create solutions and results to unexpected situations. Ability to coach and motivate less experienced team members to achieve their goals. Working for a large retail/consumer Goods Global Brand in the PNW region remotely for first 6 months 2022. Then possible relocation to Portland area required post COVID. We are currently seeking a Sr. BASIS Admin to contribute as an team member of BASIS Team. This position will report to the SAP Development Manager, but will work with all members of the team.
Qualifications
• A viable candidate for this senior role has a proven track record keeping SAP landscapes healthy and up to date, has a desire to continuously improve Client's expanding SAP landscape and can deploy technical solutions independently while using best practices and standard SAP principles, concepts and techniques
• Experienced and well-researched on current technology that supports SAP ECC and other applications
• Able to communicate performance recommendations and implement solutions independently
• A partner that enjoys working closely with functional and technical SAP team members during functional and development troubleshooting
• Comfortable working with team members in other regions of the world
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field required
• 8-10 years of IT experience required with at least seven years of experience in an SAP Basis Administration capacity
• Advanced knowledge of the SAP implementation lifecycle, ASAP methodology, phased global rollout approach, and implications on Basis administration
• Full cycle ERP / BW implementation experience required

Responsibilities
• Hands-on administration of the following systems and solutions: SAP ECC with AFS, BOE/Lumira, GRC, Solution Manager, Gateway, TDMS, OpenText, Taxware, Web Dispatcher, Fiori Frontend Server, Microsoft Azure Cloud infrastructure
• Define and document procedures and standards for configuring, monitoring, tuning and troubleshooting the SAP technical environment
• Performs system refreshes, participates in scheduling of refresh activities with stakeholders
• Monitors and tunes system performance
• Follow procedures and standards regarding Transport and Correction in conjunction with requirements defined by the Change and Release Management
• Generate SOX control audit artifacts and make improvements to control processes
• Perform technical troubleshooting as needed to ensure 24/7 availability of all systems
• Perform rigorous quality checks to ensure efficient use of all SAP hardware, software, operating systems, and databases

Mid to Senior SAP Basis System Administrator

We are looking for an SAP Basis Administrator to join the IT Applications organization, which runs multiple SAP systems globally. The primary responsibilities include oversight and hands on configuring, monitoring, tuning, and solving the SAP technical environment on an ongoing basis. This position is also responsible for the development and maintenance of policies and procedures relating to operation and support of the SAP environment covering organizational change, including backup/restore, disaster recovery, audit and in conjunction with the hosting team maintenance of the technical infrastructure reference documents such as technical architecture, interface references, hardware, and software assets.

Responsibilities include:

• Host weekly Basis Meetings with IT partners reviewing current activities & planning future activities. Submit maintenance plans for approval of Non-Prod & Prod environments.
• Coordinate annual disaster recovery testing in line with business expectations.
• Establish and handle enabling technologies such as Solution Manager and Transport Management solutions. Ensure that appropriate controls are in place to handle processes and maintain compliance with internal and external audit rules.
• Lead and run third-party software integration with the core SAP platform. Create standards and protocols for how integration will be handled and the technologies that will be used to support integration.
• Interact with development teams, configuration teams, various technical support teams, and business collaborators to optimize and maintain the overall SAP reliability, availability, and performance.
• The position has a 24x7 on-call dedication and availability for evening and weekend working as required.
• Oversight over Batch job creation, changes & update - Run batch jobs within the SAP systems including generation of new jobs and changes to existing jobs, working with business owners on requirements.
• Lead and supervise all SAP systems (work processes, users, system logs, short dumps, locks, developer traces, system traces, disk space, etc.); prepare and deliver system performance statistics and reports, including archiving activities.
• Ability to learn about and support SAP related 3rd party software such as Vertex, pay metrics, SAP GUI, Sterling Integrator and others as it is integrated with SAP.
• Lead and coordinate with third parties to troubleshoot and resolve problems related to performance issues for SAP S4 HANA, BW4 HANA, BI, SRM, SCM,
• Own the planning and implementation of SAP system upgrades.
• Run and/or participate in the Application of SAP maintenance (hot packages and kernel upgrades) through all systems using a structured methodology.

Skills & Experience Required:

• Bachelor's in computer science, mathematics, or equivalent experience.
• A minimum of 7+ years deep technical skills in implementation and support of SAP S4, BW4, SAP NetWeaver Java systems, Fiori, GRC, SRM.
• Consistent track record using SQL to query and analyze data.
• Coding proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Python, Ruby, Java, etc.).
• SAP Basis certified.
• Backup and Recovery tools processes and procedures.
• Disaster Recovery tools processes and procedures.
• Installation, upgrade and Migration experience.
• Demonstrable experience in performance monitoring and tuning of SAP systems.

Nice to Have:

• UNIX/Linux administration experience.
• Knowledge of EAI concepts, tools and integration.
• Solution Manager configuration and management using CHARM and Test automation.
• Three or more full-lifecycle implementations of SAP.
