We are a materials science company creating cutting-edge products for aerospace, defense, and energy, seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Propellant will have expertise in chemistry and an extensive background in solid propellant formulation, energetic materials characterization, and the testing and integration of propellants in solid rocket motors. This position will lead the start-up of new capabilities in propellant mixing and testing at our Central Florida location. This role will manage multiple energetics development programs. The Senior Propellant Scientist will be the technical owner of energetic laboratory processes, equipment, operating procedures, and facility requirements. Duties and Responsibilities • Develop and implement requirements for equipment, facilities, and safety for the startup and expansion of solid propellant mixing and testing laboratory capabilities. • Lead solid propellant formulation development projects incorporating conventional and novel materials and designs to meet program requirements for performance, safety, mechanical properties, and aging characteristics. • Design, optimize, and conduct laboratory processes and procedures for propellant mixing, casting, curing, and testing including subscale solid rocket motor firing • Prepare and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for energetics processing operations • Ensure all work is conducted in compliance with safety and regulatory standards • Collaborate with materials scientists, chemical engineers, and propulsion system designers to support program execution and meet overall technical objectives • Analyze materials characterization and propellant test data, evaluate results, and make recommendations • Prepare reports and presentations detailing work progress and results • Write technical proposals and serve as Principal Investigator on internally and externally funded programs. • Communicate technical results to company leadership and government/industry customers Minimum Qualifications • Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Science • Extensive knowledge and expertise in propellant formulation, characterization, and testing • Hands-on experience with laboratory-scale solid propellant mixing, casting, curing, and testing • Expertise in propellant characterization and testing, including strand burning, mechanical properties testing, safety/sensitivity, and subscale rocket motor static firing • Experience leading research and development initiatives and managing technical teams for government or military projects • Must be a U.S. citizen and be able to obtain a Security Clearance

Working Title: OPS BIOLOGICAL SCIENTIST I - 64854051 Pay Plan: Temp 64854051 Salary: $21.96 per hour Total Compensation Estimator Tool Open Competitive Your Specific Responsibilities: This is an advanced professional position in a CHD STD Prevention and Control Program. The incumbent in this position provides direct disease and public health awareness intervention activities including but not limited to notification, counseling and referral services of individuals exposed to or at-risk of infection from sexually transmitted infections and other public health threats. The position requires a firsthand knowledge of public health systems, as well as professional and interpersonal skills to interact with health care clients, health care professionals and others who impact STD Prevention and Control activities. Performs case management activities as directed in the process of identifying infected individuals. These activities will include but are not limited to: work prioritization, records documentation and management, HIV pre and posttest counseling, case analysis, data entry and other related activities. Communicates with and visits public and private clinics, clinicians, hospitals, laboratories, and other health care providers to obtain pertinent clinical information and promote reporting of cases and or positive reactive test results in accordance with FL statutes and administrative rules. Acquaint practitioners with current diagnostic and treatment guidelines and disease trends in the community. Duties will also require a knowledge of varied social, economic, cultural and lifestyle characteristics, and a skill in communicating with, and eliciting information from patients and target groups with these diverse backgrounds. All activities are performed observing federal, state, and DOH-Osceola Confidentiality statutes, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge, skills and abilities, including utilization of equipment, required for the position: Knowledge of methods of compiling, organizing and analyzing data.
