The Apelon Terminology Server Administrator works closely with a team supporting the Indian Health Service, Health Information Technology Systems and Support (HITSS) project. The Apelon Terminology Server Administrator works in the development and augmentation of current Apelon-based mechanisms to enable the routine import of medium to large scale edits to Apelon content for any designated terminology using and enhancing, as needed, Terminology Query Language (TQL) based scripts, for example, consistent with the Apelon DB (future state operating procedure). The work requires skills associated with understanding Apelon software and Apelon DB. Also, the Terminology Server Administrator will ensure the correct transfer of database content from the current locally developed database to the Apelon DB and back (current standard operating procedure). Job Description: Position: Senior Engineer - Windows, VMware, and Active Directory Engineer with Cloud Support Location: Atlanta, Georgia (5 days onsite per week) Position Overview We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Engineer with expertise in Windows Server, VMware virtualization, and Active Directory (AD) as primary skills. The ideal candidate will have a experience managing complex enterprise environments, along with additional knowledge of AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud platforms. This role requires on-site presence at the customer's location to provide hands-on support and collaborate closely with the client's IT teams. Key Responsibilities Design, deploy, and manage Windows Server environments, ensuring stability, security, and performance. Administer and optimize Active Directory infrastructure, including domain controllers, group policies, trusts, and replication. Manage VMware virtualization environments (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter), including provisioning, monitoring, and troubleshooting virtual machines. Perform regular health checks, patch management, and capacity planning for Windows, AD, and VMware environments. Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to Windows Server, Active Directory, and VMware infrastructure. Integrate and support hybrid cloud environments, working with AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud platforms. Assist in cloud migration initiatives, identity management, and cloud resource optimization. Collaborate with cloud teams to integrate on-premises infrastructure with cloud services, including identity federation and security. Develop and maintain detailed documentation, operational procedures, and technical guides. Provide on-site technical support, ensuring timely resolution of incidents and minimizing downtime. Participate in disaster recovery planning and execution for virtualized and Windows environments. Stay current with emerging technologies in Windows, VMware, and cloud platforms to recommend improvements. Required Skills and Experience Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience with Windows Server administration and Active Directory. Strong expertise in VMware virtualization technologies including vSphere, ESXi hosts, and vCenter Server management. In-depth knowledge of Active Directory design, group policy management, DNS, DHCP, and replication. Experience with Windows Server versions 2012, 2016, 2019, or newer. Working knowledge of AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud platforms, including compute, storage, and identity services. Ability to support hybrid cloud environments and integrate on-premises infrastructure with cloud services. Solid understanding of virtualization best practices, resource allocation, and performance tuning. Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows, VMware, and cloud environments. Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with customer teams on-site. Willingness to work from the customer's location as required. Preferred Qualifications Certifications such as VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect. Experience with automation and scripting tools like PowerShell, VMware PowerCLI, or cloud automation frameworks.
