Some places are better than others when it comes to starting a career as a senior software tester. The best states for people in this position are Connecticut, Maryland, Virginia, and New Hampshire. Senior software testers make the most in Connecticut with an average salary of $102,099. Whereas in Maryland and Virginia, they would average $97,378 and $93,507, respectively. While senior software testers would only make an average of $91,449 in New Hampshire, you would still make more there than in the rest of the country.
