The Sr. Sourcing Manager will be responsible to support and assist in the development of the Category Management strategy by gathering requirements and business unit supply needs and specifications for the Human Resources and Corporate Services categories. Working collaboratively with the Category Lead and internal partners to competitively assess the global supply base capabilities and qualifications for Regeneron's interests. The Sourcing Manager owns the supplier relationship, actively participates in supplier selection, and manages ongoing performance and service delivery. You must have demonstrated capability to manage a supply base and increase value, minimize risk, and ensure quality & cost effectiveness. The position may coach or lead peers and, may supervise junior colleagues.
A typical day might include:

Global/local sourcing strategies for the respective area of spend responsibility and optimizes value within the organization. Responsible to manage all aspects of sourcing events; Request for Proposals/Quotes/Information (RFP, RFQ, RFI, collectively RFx). Sourcing initiatives to optimize value, quality, innovation, speed to market, or other business needs. Partner with the law department, quality, risk management, and supply chain to uniformly support the inclusion of contractual terms and conditions. Leads Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) initiatives including conducting performance meetings, driving the development and use of scorecards, working with team members to review performance metrics, and managing supplier relationships to achieve the goals of the category strategy. Support continuous improvements of the source-to-contract process. This may include, but not limited to, responding to audit information requests, participating in compliance reviews, and working collaboratively with the sourcing/category team on department and company-wide initiatives. Reviews and approves PO's in the Oracle workflow for category spend under management and within authorized approval limits. Adds executed iCertis numbers to PO as applicable before issuance to Supplier. Ensures that contracts and quotes are accurately reflected on the PO before approving, attaches executive justification summaries, and negotiation/savings summaries if applicable.

The ideal candidate for this role will have a Bachelor's plus 8+ years of HR/Corporate Services procurement minimally. Global experience is necessary. Pharma/Biotech would be preferred. CPSM/CPM certifications preferred.

The role of the Senior Sourcing Manager is to manage the category, contracting and sourcing process for the Facilities and Indirect Supply Chain categories. This work includes managing spend and suppliers, conducting RFx and market research as well as negotiating with suppliers to get best value. The person in this role will have a strategic mindset, strong deal shaping expertise, business acumen and will be skilled at sourcing and managing suppliers to meet requirements.
Responsibilities:
o Provide category leadership and expertise cross several sub-category functions.
o Able to provide end to end category, sourcing, contract and supplier management capabilities.
o Manage stakeholders including the business, legal, security, etc… through the entire sourcing life cycle for products and services from supplier identification, selection, negotiations, contracting process, contract and supplier management to adherence to process, policies and procedures.
o Engage with business teams at early stage of sourcing life cycle and provide marketplace insights and proactively engage with the teams to help in the supplier discussions.
o Assist in preparation of business cases as it relates to selecting and managing suppliers.
o Participate in different governance review councils and provide sourcing point of view
o Serve as primary point of contact for suppliers in the Facilities category.
o Drive the RFX process including scheduling, communications and documentation and facilitating teams in selecting suppliers
o Provide leadership teams with data to help facilitate supplier knowledge and category management including influencing category strategies.
o Negotiate financials and commercial terms and conditions with suppliers and coordinate with internal stakeholders (e.g. legal, risk, procurement and finance teams).
o Benchmark price and performance of existing products/services with marketplace and provide recommendation on appropriate sourcing and/or supplier decisions.
o Establish and streamline processes and tools used to drive a robust sourcing process.
o Provide leadership teams with analytical reports on key sourcing and supplier engagements including leading regular executive supplier internal/external reviews.

Requirements:
The successful candidate for this position will have the following experiences and expertise:
o Demonstrated experience in category and sourcing management for full breadth of Facilities and Real Estate suppliers.
o Ability to develop strategy and drive category plans globally.
o Experience managing suppliers including managed services providers.
o Leadership experience and ability to present to senior leadership teams.
o Strong expertise in analyzing industry and category trends.
o Ability to drive RFX process and shows evidence of strong supplier management skills.
o Strong negotiation and contracting skills a must.
o Strong client service orientation and ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
o Bachelor’ s degree in relevant field. Master’ s degree will be a plus.
o 10+ years relevant work experience.

Introduction

iRobot is in search of a Sr. Sourcing Manager based in Bedford, MA, USA. The Sourcing Manager is responsible for leveraging company-wide opportunities and negotiating strategic procurement initiatives. This position will lead and develop category strategies with long-term goals and visions (with focus on semiconductors). The Sourcing Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the Engineering, Advanced Development and Business Unit groups are able to design and build products using components from reliable suppliers that meet iRobot's volume, cost and quality requirements.

This position will manage a portfolio of commodities (in this case, semiconductors) to optimize the supply base and deliver financial benefit from supply chain improvements and strategic initiatives. You will also work closely with engineering to locate and develop new sources of supply to support new product introduction and negotiate necessary contracts to establish the business relationship. You will create and implements Supply Chain Management strategy to drive commercial leverage, achieve lowest total costs, ensure effective asset management, continuously improve quality, delivery, and cycle time performance, and ensure supplier involvement in product development.

This is an exciting, dynamic role in which you will work across all the departments in iRobot and be looked to as an expert to identify and/or develop new suppliers and establish strategic relationships for a wide variety of needs, both technical and commercial.

An ideal candidate will have a technical degree, such as engineering, and experience in supplier identification, validation, and negotiation. Sourcing experience and technical understanding desired in the following commodities: Semiconductors, Sensors, Power Management, and Cameras etc.

Strong business acumen is a must as you will be looked to choose the right supplier for iRobot and put in place contracts that will protect iRobot's interests. Ideal candidate will also possess the ability to think strategically and operate independently and be a strong negotiator.
What You Will Do (included but not limited):
Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers. Maintain and grow relationships with iRobot's critical supply base.Create the commodity strategy and lead the implementation of the commodity strategy with the cross-functional teams including Engineering, Supply Chain, Advanced Sourcing etc.Ensure the supply base have sufficient capability in terms of planning, capacity, pipeline program etc to fulfill iRobot short-long term demand.Identify and leverage opportunities and directly negotiate with suppliers to achieve the most competitive solution across category and/or product line.Acts as principle new component/subassembly supply and procurement support to Advanced Development and Engineering for all new product development Work closely with engineering and Advanced Development teams to identify and qualify components from existing and new suppliers.Prepares, distributes and analyzes responses to Request for Information, Proposal, Quote (RFI, RFP, RFQ), and Statements of Work (SOW), and service agreements.Constantly seeks and identifies opportunities for value creation (Cost Savings, Cost Avoidance, Revenue Enhancement) and risk mitigation & reduction.Conducts market research, evaluation and selection of new and current technologies.Ability to manage high-value, high-complexity SOWs, RFx's, and contracts with minimal direction.Lead the negotiation of contracts and business agreements with suppliers.

To Be Successful You Will have:
15+ years experiences and measurable accomplishments in a strategic procurement or sourcing role to include contract negotiations, cost reductions, supplier selection, and supplier management. Extensive international procurement experience preferred in areas of domestic and international sourcing.Extensive commodity management experience with a large international company is preferred.Possesses vision of entire business need, and have commitment to meet short-term requirements while working to long-term objectives.Strong verbal and written communications skills with the ability to translate technical decisions/strategies into business terms and implications. Produces clear documentation geared to all audiences.Positive and energetic team player with strong cross-functional team experience.Strong analytical problem solving aptitude.Bachelor's Degree in engineering, business, finance, operations or related field with 10-12 years of purchasing and procurement experience. Legal training is preferred.Must be willing to travel internationally and domestically about 25% of the time.
