This position is part of the AWS Specialist and Partner Organization (ASP). Specialists own the end-to-end go-to-market strategy for their respective technology domains, providing the business and technical expertise to help our customers succeed. In this role, you will develop the technical capabilities of our Global System Integrators (GSIs) so they can be successful in the cloud. Working with these large partners is a team effort that will require influence and coordination with many stakeholders. You should be just as comfortable talking storage and networking with the VP of Infrastructure or continuous deployment with the DevOps team, TCO with the CFO, and cloud strategy with the CIO. If you are a problem solver with a broad technical skills, and have the ability to drive technical initiatives and cloud migration projects with the GSIs you will enjoy this role. In this technical role, you will architect enterprise-grade Amazon Web Services solutions, own the technical relationship and deliverables for a GSI, develop and execute multi-day workshops, lead white boarding sessions, author white papers and blog posts, and respond to complex technical inquiries including RFPs. You will have the opportunity to dive deep on our Amazon Web Services technologies and will work side by side with some of the top technical talent in the industry. The preferred location for the individual is Virginia or Seattle. Proficiency in Japanese language is preferred for this position. Job Title: Systems Architect Job Description The Systems Architect will provide advanced systems design, architecture, and integration support to ensure reliable and scalable mission-critical applications within the Sponsor's environment. The Contractor will collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary teams, application developers, and cyber operations personnel to design, enhance, and maintain complex systems that meet stringent performance, security, and interoperability requirements. The Systems Architect shall provide architecture and systems engineering support to include, but not be limited to, the following tasks: a) Define and design end-to-end system architectures that meet user and mission requirements across multiple application and database environments. b) Develop and maintain system data models, ensuring scalability, extensibility, and alignment with future mission needs. c) Architect and integrate cloud-hosted systems, leveraging AWS services and ensuring compliance with Sponsor security standards and data flow requirements. d) Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure interoperability, availability, and performance of distributed systems and applications. e) Translate user and stakeholder requirements into technical designs that align with Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and Agile methodologies. f) Design and implement solutions that integrate multiple data sources, repositories, and services across on-premise and cloud environments. g) Monitor and evaluate technology changes (e.g., network updates, cloud service modifications, or security mandates) and develop actionable plans to adapt system architecture accordingly. h) Conduct impact and level-of-effort assessments for new or modified requirements to guide planning and resource allocation. i) Coordinate with software developers and cyber operations teams to ensure that system designs support mission resiliency, scalability, and continuous modernization. j) Support system documentation, technical specifications, and architecture diagrams to enable future maintenance and system understanding. Mandatory Skills Demonstrated experience using JIRA. Demonstrated experience working on multi-disciplinary application development teams. Demonstrated experience with the following technologies: Linux (Bash), Java, Spring Boot, MongoDB, AWS Services, User-driven web applications, and Elasticsearch. Demonstrated experience working within the Agency's cyber operations organizations, performing systems design, development, and interconnectivity. Demonstrated experience translating user requirements into end-to-end system and database designs involving multiple interfaces to other applications or supporting systems. Demonstrated experience applying Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) principles and Agile Development Methods. Demonstrated experience designing and developing applications hosted on AWS that leverage diverse AWS services. Demonstrated experience developing and implementing system data models and predicting future system needs. Demonstrated experience maintaining awareness of changes to networks, cloud services, and security requirements, and developing adjustment plans. Demonstrated experience evaluating the impact and level-of-effort of new requirements on current and future systems. Desired Skills Demonstrated experience with the Sponsor's cyber operations mission applications. Demonstrated experience using ArangoDB.
