What you will do:
Under general direction, acts as the on-site project leader to plan, execute, and complete projects with assigned customers in a safe and cost-effective manner. Performs or delegates tasks as required to execute and fully complete assigned projects including: hardware design, system programming, installation coordination, system and network commissioning, and project closeout. How you will do it:
Ensures installation hardware design and software programming using established standards as required. Provides detailed information to communicate design and operation to customers, Johnson Controls staff, and subcontractors.
Actively pursues additional work through change orders. Evaluates the contractual scope of work and the impact of client-issued bulletins, field directives, and/or scheduling changes. Communicates both technical and business-related issues with the clients.
Manages the selection, ordering, budget, and delivery schedule of materials to be procured for the projects assigned via our web-based tool process.
Secures pricing and availability from outside vendors and suppliers, mechanical and electrical subcontractors including scope, terms, and conditions. May request several bids in the pricing process. Oversees subcontractor payment and billing processes.
Provides job site coordination for panel and field device physical locations. Ensures installation is in accordance with Johnson Controls standards and project requirements.
Manages and completes the loading, device verification, and commissioning of all system controllers as required. Validates complete system functionality and resolves issues with subcontractors and others to ensure proper operation. Provides accurate project as-built and commissioning documentation.
Manages costs, billings, and collections. Completes project billings in a timely and accurate format to the client. Maintains profitability goals and positive cash flow through best business practices and continuous improvement metrics.
Provides coaching, mentoring, and technical assistance to System Technicians, Electrical Installers, and System Designers. Provides technical assistance to subcontractors. Ensures that delegated tasks are done accurately, on-time, billed, within budget, and within the scope of the contract.
Effectively communicates the status of projects to management as required and provides monthly forecasts of revenue, costs, and gross margin.
Sends warranty letters to JCI customers upon substantial completion of the project and ensures proper execution of warranty.
Develops project plans and coordinates the required resources to ensure timely and cost-effective installation and completion of assigned projects.
Performs site-specific training for owner/operator on the total system in full or with assistance. Ensures owner/operator has been trained. Provides proper documentation and manuals for system operation.
Develops and maintains viable long-term relationships with contractors, clients, consultants, and subcontractors. Attends job progress meetings as required.
Coordinates with Project Engineers on bundled jobs to deliver cost-efficient solutions that exceed customer expectations.
Follows all safety standards and has the highest regard for employee and subcontractor safety.

For LSS I: Minimum of a technical Associates Degree with two years of field experience or four years of equivalent related field experience. Must have applicable Access Control, Fire, Video, and/or systems design and commissioning experience. Must have appropriate licensing, certifications, and relevant hands-on experience. Must demonstrate the ability to perform work independently. Strong personal computer skills. Knowledge of project accounting, costing principles, and contracting preferred.

Mesa seeks a Senior Engineer who will work with other members of the engineering team to deliver projects of varying complexity and size for our Transmission Line clients. The ideal candidate will have the following skills, knowledge and abilities:

WORK ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS:
Normal office environment with occasional field trips to sites requiring ability to walk and navigate varying terrain and requiring occasional overnight (or longer) stays.
Education/Experience/Licensure:
Senior level engineering position requiring a four-year technical degree in engineering.
A minimum of 5 years progressively responsible experience in transmission line design experience is required.
Professional registration is desirable for this position or ability to obtain within 6 months. FE registration is required for this position.
Experience in the use of PLS software is required.
Well organized and self-motivated to complete tasks within agreed to schedules.
Responsibilities:
Works under the direction of Principal Engineers and Engineering Managers.
As a fully competent Engineer, independently evaluates, selects and applies engineering principles and practices relevant to the project requirements.
Works with the Engineering Manager and Project Manager to define project objectives, prepare design estimates, and define project requirements and design approaches for large or complex projects.
Capable of acting as Lead Engineer on single discipline projects or smaller multi-discipline projects, responsible for determining design approach and working with design team to prepare required design documents (e.g., drawings, specifications, calculations, etc.).
Responsible for conceptualizing the initial design approach for a major phase of a large project, or have overall responsibility for the engineering work on a routine project.
Exercises judgment in the independent evaluation selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
Capable of preparing and verifying calculations using engineering formulas and skills or application specific software as required.
Manages personal task assignments, and for designated projects manages assignments of other design team members to ensure adherence to scope, schedule and budget.
Must be capable of directing project design teams comprised of engineers, designers and technicians on a single project.
Monitors project execution milestones and schedules to ensure projects are completed on schedule.
Performs technical and coordination checking/ review of deliverables and other project documents. Ensures deliverables comply with Business Unit procedures and meet applicable design requirements.
Follows up on construction issues with design staff to resolve problems and concerns in a timely manner.
Supervision of less experienced engineers or technical support personnel is exercised on an assignment basis and is not an on-going substantial component at this level.
Identifies conflicting design or schedule requirements and generates Project Deviation Notices in a timely fashion
May make project level decisions on assigned projects.

Senior Control Systems Engineers analyze user requirements and the design of process and/or mechanical equipment to design automation systems that control the process or machine in the desired manner.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS
Responsibilities for this job may include but are not limited to:
Interface with customers to develop User Requirements documentation
Lead project teams to execute the controls hardware and/or software scope
Develop control specification (control narratives) documentation based on User Requirements
Perform initial feasibility studies for proposed projects, resulting in a feasibility-level cost estimate and supporting documentation for the project
Mark-up Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) for instrumentation and controls related changes and review drawings from the drafting team
Design low-voltage (up to 480V) electrical controls drawings, panel drawings, loop sheets, I/O drawings, and network drawings and review drawings from the drafting team
Develop programs for Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and/or oversee the program development done by others
Human-Machine Interface (HMI) development and SCADA configuration
Historian configuration
Develop testing plans for DCS and PLC programs to effectively test all aspects of a new program or program changes
Simulate the DCS/PLC program and test the system using the testing plan
Oversee electrical controls construction at the client's site and verify that the system is being installed as designed - provide technical support to the construction effort
Perform I/O checkout on the installed control system and document the checkout results
Provide post-commissioning support to the client's operations, engineering, and maintenance personnel
Travel to the client's site as required
Required Experience / Abilities
Degreed in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or similar), Computer Science, or similar scientific/technical field
