I2X Technologies is seeking a Systems Engineer to support ongoing activities for a customer in Colorado Springs, CO or Huntsville, AL. This position will be on-site and will require an active Secret clearance. * Lead in authoring and designing Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and Interface Design Documents (IDDs), includes establishing new interfaces between external elements, including sensors, and other Command and Control Systems. * Ensure the ICDs and IDDs created are to appropriate standards required of the program. * Develop various behavioral diagrams to understand and document the requirements. * Primary responsibility will be developing, updating, and maintaining multiple ICDs and IDDs. * Attend interface working group meetings with the external customer and representatives of assigned external element engineering organization as well as support to program integration and test related efforts for the associated interface. * May also be assigned to support: other Interface Engineers in developing ICDs for other elements, support requirements engineering, use case development, and logical architecture modeling tasks as SE department tasking requires. * Support leadership (internal and external), developers, and testers with messages and interface rules (transmit, receive, processing) questions and test findings. Qualifications * Advanced degree and 7+ years experience or bachelors with 9+ years experience or equivalent * Active Secret clearance * Possess deep expertise in developing ICDs and IDDs that are fully compliant with DIDs and DoD requirements. * Proven ability to work collaboratively within a seasoned systems engineering team, delivering high quality products and artifacts in strict accordance with the program's Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP) and associated processes. * Extensive experience authoring Missile Defense System ICDs and IDDs - highly desirable * Strong background in creating complex Command and Control (C2) system ICDs and IDDs - highly desirable. * Solid foundation in computer programming principles, enabling effective communication with software development teams and a clear understanding of implementation constraints. * Additionally, the candidate must have a solid grasp of Systems Engineering processes and principles, with a proven record of applying these concepts to deliver effective product solutions. * Experience in requirements elicitation-particularly using behavior diagrams to analyze and decompose requirements-is required. * The applicant should demonstrate expertise in interface engineering, including authoring ICDs and IDDs that cover: * Message definition, processing rules, and formatting (e.g., XML, VMF), Physical and network specifications and models (including the ISO/OSI model), Network topologies, devices, and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, UDP) * Strong written and oral communication skills are essential * Prior work with IBM Rational DOORS (or similar requirements management tools) is highly desirable.
