The candidate will support computational approaches to world class biological research enabling our understanding of the diverse mechanisms of life and their impact on human health. Responsibilities include installation and testing of cutting-edge software and management of the scientific computational cluster in coordination with the Stowers IT sysadmin group. Experience with scheduled cluster computing is required.
Successful candidates will also have strong communication skills including the ability to assist graduate students and post-docs from multidisciplinary life sciences backgrounds.
Experience with the following applications is required:
Linux/Bash scripting skills
Cluster computing scheduling and administration (preferably via slurm)

**Operational Management**
+ Lead and develop the network team's talent and expertise to strengthen the support levels provided by the team.
+ Lead and deploy appropriate network equipment to support the conference room technology and strategy.
+ Lead continual network assessments to ensure appropriate the appropriate bandwidth and latency can support critical bank applications.
+ Manage and set priorities for the design, maintenance, development, and evaluation of all network infrastructure systems.
+ Conduct feasibility studies for various upgrade projects, improvements, and other conversions.
+ Establish standards for training and education regarding the network infrastructure equipment in place within the environment.
+ Define hardware and software standards in conjunction with owners and stakeholders.
+ Test and monitor the network performance and provide quantitative performance statistics, KPI measurements, and reports to demonstrate operational effectiveness, compliance with standards and objectives, and to manage capacity.

Job Description
As a Lead Network Engineer in Bright speed's Network Architecture Lab, you will assume ownership and responsibility for Access, Metro Ethernet, CPE, Fiber Voice and/or Transport technologies and equipment testing. * Represent Site Operations in leading work to define and architect new solutions on global initiatives, working with stakeholders across Infra Data Centers & Infrastructure teams
* Assemble and lead teams to address complex engineering challenges, requiring technical expertise as well as a broad understanding of Meta's overall infrastructure
* Address issues that can be ambiguous and global in nature, requiring leadership and collaboration across time zones, teams, and technical domains
* Act as key SME and mentor in the design, operation, and troubleshooting of tools, technologies, and processes utilized within Site Operations
* Understand and assess risks and challenges associated with emerging new hardware, data center and software technologies, and define & implement effective mitigations for these
* Employ a holistic understanding of the full infrastructure stack to lead solutions that appropriately balance physical and logical layer
* Act as a global communication and advisory point of contact for the design, implementation and delivery of projects that affect our global data center and server fleet and facilitate resolution of issues drawing on local expertise and global support partners
* Leverage data-driven methodologies to understand a problem at the onset, define a plan, and measure progress throughout a project

What You'll Do:
· Provide technical expertise and project leadership for liquid process system projects at all stages including pre-sales, detail engineering, fabrication, FAT, installation, startup, SAT & customer training.
· Interact with the sales team & clients to establish scopes and expectations to ensure flawless execution.
· Use Shick Esteve and/or customer specifications to engineer a project which meets the customer requirements, is delivered on time, in full, and within the project budget.
· Generate, maintain, review, and/or approve Shick Esteve Engineering documents including, but not limited to, the PFD, P&ID, SOO, E&I List, equipment data sheets, O&M Manuals, and system sizing calculations.
· Review and approve internal and external drawing packages for customers and vendors. This includes plan & elevation, “For Customer Approval”, and “For Construction”.
· Generate RFQ's, ERP BOM's, and RMA's as needed
· Provide process engineering guidance for pre-engineering site reviews, installation review/supervision, startup assistance, and system acceptance testing.
· Ability to communicate and coordinate with multiple departments, including Project Management, Electrical Engineering, and Field Service to develop a cohesive, high-performing project team focused on flawless execution.
· Ability to prioritize and manage work to critical project timelines in a fast-paced environment.
· Assist in the development of company engineering design procedures and standards.
· Willingness to cross-train on pneumatic conveying and related systems in support of company engineering needs.
· Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required. Chemical or Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
1-5 years of experience in liquids processing systems is strongly preferred. New graduates with previous co-op or internship experience are eligible.
AutoCAD proficiency is required.
SOLIDWORKS or Autodesk Inventor 3D experience preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate internally and externally in the form of technical project guidance, system troubleshooting, site analysis & trip reports, change order options, etc.
Travel up to 10-25% of the time based on project needs to perform site/installation inspections for customers, equipment reviews/ FATs for vendors, and as needed for other project requirements
