We provide real-time support of trading applications. This benefits our UBS Equities Cash Traders. As an IT support analyst, you ll play an important role in both the stability and smooth operation of technology for the Cash trading systems Your expertise ideally 5-6 years of hands-on experience with application support in a UNIX-Linux environment excellent hands on knowledge of scripting technologies (shell, python, perl) ability to solve complex issues, good at problem statement analysis and solution design thinking track record of influencing senior IT stakeholders and business partners confident communicator that can explain technology to non-technical audiences capable of understanding client needs and translating this into products and services (1.) To ensure process compliance in the assigned module, and participate in technical discussionsorreview as a technical consultant for feasibility study (technical alternatives, best packages, supporting architecture best practices, technical risks, breakdown into components, estimations). (2.) To develop and guide the team members in enhancing their technical capabilities and increasing productivity (3.) To prepare and submit status reports for minimizing exposure and risks on the project or closure of escalations. (4.) To be responsible for providing technical guidance or solutions ;define, advocate, and implement best practices and coding standards for the team.

We are seeking a Chemical Engineer or Industrial Engineer (with Operations Research focus) to join our industry-leading Petroleum Supply Chain (PSC) team to work as a Sr. Technical Consultant. Our Petroleum Supply Chain suite consists of Planning, Scheduling and Blending products. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of chemical engineering and/or operations research and optimization principles and be able to learn new concepts quickly. The candidate should be an innovative thinker, demonstrate high initiative, have great communication skills and work to the highest ethical standards.

Your Impact

Assignments will be varied. Your time will be divided between solving customer technical support problems with our Planning, Scheduling and Blending software via telephone/web, delivering high quality training on our Petroleum Supply Chain (PSC) product line and other department projects as needed. Drive improvement in our PSC software. Provide your own ideas and bring customer feedback to the R&D team to make our products better. Serve as a technical expert and provide technical leadership in several specialized areas within our PSC technical support team. Develop and maintain PSC training course materials and curriculum to include newly released functionality and the latest trends in Refinery Planning and Scheduling. Author white paper solution articles for publication to the user community through our support web knowledge base. Mentor team members for improved support operation and training delivery. Resolve complex issues that cannot be solved by first level support. Travel to customer sites if required. Travel is usually less than 25% and may occasionally be international.



What You'll Need


Bachelor's, Master's or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Operations Research or related discipline 4 to 6 years of experience in the petroleum industry (midstream, downstream), or refining industry related software/consulting. University level projects may count towards experience. Knowledge of Process Modeling and Optimization using LP (Linear Programming) is essential. Hands-on problem-solving skills with a drive to deliver quality work Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer relationship skills Be able to work well in diverse teams composed of people with varied backgrounds Demonstrated ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner

The Role

As a Senior Technical Consultant, you will be a leading member of the Professional Services group. You'll provide consulting and technical architecture design on project teams implementing Veeva Vault R&D applications and Vault Platform cloud solutions to companies in the life sciences industry.

The Senior Technical Consultant is a customer advocate working closely with other Veeva teams (Services, Product, Sales, Strategy) to ensure customer success today and in the future.

The role is remote, based in the EU and will require travel within the region.
