Fermilab's Long-Baseline Neutrino Facility (LBNF) and Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE) Project is seeking a Senior Technical Specialist - Electrical to join the underground operations team in Lead, South Dakota. This high-impact role will support the installation, integration, and commissioning of large-scale detector systems, with a primary focus on electrical infrastructure, component reliability, and team leadership. The ideal candidate brings advanced technical experience in electrical systems and infrastructure for large scientific or industrial environments and is eager to mentor, guide, and supervise junior technicians while maintaining the highest safety and performance standards. This position plays a critical role in executing Fermilab's strategic objectives underground at the LBNF-DUNE project site in Lead, SD. What your day-to-day as a Sr. Technical Specialist at Fermilab will look like: Lead and perform installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electrical systems including detector cabling, power distribution, signal paths, and infrastructure support for FD1 and FD2. Supervise and mentor a team of technicians, providing technical direction, scheduling work, setting goals, and contributing to performance evaluations. Guide the daily operation of electrical installation tasks, ensuring conformance with engineering plans, safety standards, and project timelines. Coordinate electrical testing and validation of systems, including cold box and in-cryostat environments. Install and maintain related mechanical infrastructure such as cable trays, grounding systems, and control enclosures. Support the integration of network systems, detector safety systems, electronics racks, and low-voltage power systems. Lead or coordinate design, fabrication, calibration, and maintenance of complex electrical equipment and tools. Collaborate with engineers and project leaders to develop layouts, designs, and implementation plans for electrical subsystems. Write and update procedures and technical documentation; contribute to traveler documents and technical notes. Generate and review Hazard Analyses; ensure full compliance with ESH standards and project safety requirements. Oversee procurement of electrical components, manage delivery schedules, coordinate with vendors, and maintain inventory. Operate material handling equipment including forklifts, scissor lifts, pallet jacks, and detector-specific transport systems. Ensure high standards of quality control and problem resolution throughout project phases. Skills and Attributes for Success: Minimum Education/Experience: High school diploma (or technical certificate or equivalent) with 15+ years of advanced technical experience in one or more critical functions of strategic importance to a scientific or engineering project Technical Expertise: Advanced and specialized knowledge in electrical systems installation, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting in industrial, research, or technical environments. Leadership: Demonstrated supervisory and mentoring experience. Ability to guide teams, delegate effectively, and foster professional development. Technical Skills: Familiarity with cleanroom protocol, detector integration, underground operations, and precision alignment techniques preferred. Problem Solving: Proven ability to interpret complex electrical diagrams, resolve operational issues, and collaborate across disciplines. Certifications: Must be able to legally operate government vehicles; additional certifications in electrical safety or systems preferred. Work Environment Must be able to work one mile underground on a rotating two-shift schedule. Tasks involve working at heights and in confined spaces using lifts and access equipment. Must be capable of operating material handling equipment and performing physical tasks in an industrial environment.     114th Fighter Wing Air National Guard, Sioux Falls, SD Employ a holistic approach to training that incorporates ‘prehab,' performance training, and strength & conditioning. The certified strength and conditioning specialist may be utilized as a complementary support role in rehabilitation, with an aggressive “return-to-fly” mindset. Daily activities may include instruction, demonstration, and application of physical training principles and techniques. Develop, design, and implement a cohesive and comprehensive programming approach. Collaborate with other HPO personnel to provide each aircrew member seeking prehab/prevention services an initial performance evaluation within one week of the request. Based on this evaluation, conduct a needs analysis to identify deficits, goals, and risk factors, and develop and implement a tailored training program that includes prehabilitation, performance training, strength and conditioning, and rehabilitation. Build rapport with clients and motivate them to achieve higher levels of performance. Effectively teach various blocks of instruction related to health, fitness, and physical performance to aircrew personnel, as requested by the COR and in coordination with relevant unit leadership. Employ relevant technologies, including third-party fitness/nutrition apps, to support the trainingprogram and improve client performance. Deliver briefings, educational sessions, and seminars. Continue to research, gather data, and employ the most modern and supported best practices in the field of strength and conditioning, to include validated functional assessments. Maintain all professional credentials and certifications. Attend required continuing education to remain licensed per state or national agency requirements. Complete all unit/Government in-processing requirements and computer-based training as required by the Department of Defense, Air Force, newcomer's orientation, and other job specific trainings which could include simulations and other hands-on training opportunities/assessments. Assist with management of physical conditioning supply inventories. Provide input to organization regarding supply needs and optimal equipment. Perform administrative duties such as maintaining records of workload. May be required to document patient encounters using mandated Government systems in accordance with guidance and direction. Ensure personnel complete all training and maintain certifications to comply with applicable regulations, such as HIPAA and Privacy Act. Screen for factors that may impact physical performance and readiness. These assessments may include flexibility and mobility assessments, muscular strength and endurance assessments, cardiovascular fitness assessments, and body composition assessments, to inform individualized training programs. Implement neck and spine strengthening protocols designed to enhance physical capacity and durability for aircrew. These protocols will be informed by performance assessments and consistent with best practices for strength and conditioning. Minimum Qualifications: Possess a minimum of five (5) years of full-time experience as a Strength & Conditioning Specialist in collegiate (or higher), professional, or tactical athletics; aerospace industry, test pilot/astronaut or similar man-machine high-performance environment. Master's degree or higher in Human Performance, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or a related field. National Strength and Conditioning (NSCA) Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Association (CSCCa) and Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC). Current certification in basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), including Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Training. Must be a US Citizen. Our Water/Wastewater team serves the essential Municipal and Industrial clients throughout the entire US and are comprised of employee owners in Sioux Falls, Storm Lake, Des Moines, and St. Louis Park offices. We are a full-service, multi-disciplinary team, who perform award winning work in planning, design, survey, and construction. As an ISG Employee Owner, you would work directly with our Group Leader Rachel Kloos, who brings over 18 years of experience in the Water/Wastewater industry, including a focus on sustainability and water reuse applications. In addition, you will work closely with other our other Group Leaders Tom Grafft in Storm Lake and Lenny Larson in Des Moines. Our Water/Wastewater Practice Group Leader is Casey Patton, based in Des Moines. Here are some projects we've worked on recently that might give you a better sense of what you'll be doing day to day: - Clarion Water Treatment Plant: The City of Clarion contracted with ISG to assist them with the planning, design, and construction of a new reverse osmosis water treatment plant capable of producing approximately 1 million gallons of water per day. The reverse osmosis system includes the membranes as well as pressure filters, holding tanks, transfer pumps and chemical feed systems necessary for the proper treatment of the water. Also included in this project were the installation of three vertical high service pumps and the rehabilitation of a well house. This project was funded through USDA and SRF funding sources. ISG provided the preliminary engineering report, pilot water plant assistance, funding assistance, survey, design, permitting, bidding, and construction phase services for this project. The water treatment plant is currently under construction with a completion date scheduled in mid-2024. - Rockwell City Water Reclamation Facility Improvements: The City of Rockwell City contracted with ISG to assist them with the planning, design, and construction of improvements to their existing water reclamation facility to provide for the treatment of a daily average of 350,000 gallons of sewage, with a total capacity to handle up to 3.8 million gallons of sewage per day during a wet weather event. The reclamation facility consists of headworks, equalization basin, and an activated sludge treatment process consisting of anaerobic, anoxic, and aeration basins and sludge pumping, storage, and handling facilities. Also included in this project was providing uv-disinfection of the effluent prior to discharge along with a process building and associated mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. ISG provided the preliminary engineering report, funding assistance, survey, design, permitting, bidding, and construction phase services for this project. The facility improvements were completed in 2023. - Sanitary Sewer and Wastewater Treatment Plant Improvements - ISG developed cost - savings solutions to lower the chloride and e. coli effluent levels to meet State standards for the City of Pocahontas's wastewater treatment plant and recommended efficiency improvements to its aging sanitary sewer system.
