Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Bachelor's degree with 8 years of related experience
* Graduate of U.S. Army Command and General Staff College or equivalent (MEL4)
* Prior U.S. Military service as a Field Grade Officer (COL, LTC, MAJ) with a Military Intelligence WfF background and experience
* Familiarity with current Army and Joint doctrine
* Experience writing operational orders at the Division and above level
* Integrated other, non-Intel, warfighting functions into planning
* Prepared scenario-based training

Job Summary:
This senior engineering role requires autonomy, strong technical expertise, and the ability to drive impact across multiple systems. The Tech Lead will guide and mentor less experienced engineers, instruct, direct, and review the work of others, and ensure high-quality delivery of technical solutions. The ideal candidate will serve as both a technical and business system expert, collaborating closely with stakeholders to design innovative solutions while ensuring alignment with business goals. This position requires proficiency in the software development lifecycle, expert-level programming knowledge, and strong leadership capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as a technical and system business consultant for key business systems, supporting teams and projects.
* Collaborate with business and user communities to define and design technology solutions.
* Lead software engineers within the team, providing direction, mentorship, and code review.
* Ensure proficiency and adherence to all aspects of the software development lifecycle.
* Develop and maintain software using a variety of programming languages, web design tools, scripting tools, and protocols.
* Devise and modify complex procedures to solve technical and business challenges.
* Analyze, troubleshoot, and revise existing system logic and documentation to improve performance and maintain accuracy.
* Maintain and update system artifacts to ensure they remain relevant and current.
* Act as a communication bridge across IT product and project teams to eliminate duplicate efforts and drive alignment.
Must have the following experience:
* 7+ years of experience with Guidewire Administration Systems (Policy, Billing, or Claims).
* Demonstrated technical leadership experience in guiding and mentoring other engineers.
* In depth knowledge of Guidewire policy center, billing center and Claims Center
* Must have a Guidewire Cloud Certification
* Proven track record of operating autonomously with broad impact across multiple systems.
Technical Skills
* Proficient knowledge of multiple programming languages, frameworks, and development tools.
* Strong understanding of web design languages, scripting tools, and communication protocols.
* Expertise across the full software development lifecycle, including analysis, design, coding, testing, implementation, and maintenance.
* Experience with system integration and troubleshooting complex technical challenges.
Soft Skills
* Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration abilities.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
* Adept at bridging technical and business perspectives to deliver high-value solutions.
Candidate must be able to effectively communicate in English (written & verbal)
Candidate must have permanent authorization to work in the USA for any employer
Corp to corp candidates will not be considered.
The base range for this contract position is $55 - $85 per hour, depending on experience. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
