Tech Lead Manager, Platform Engineering
Multi Media 4.6
Remote job
, LLC
Multi Media, LLC is the company behind Chaturbate, one of the most heavily trafficked live streaming platforms in the world. We support a global network of independent content creators and millions of real-time viewers, delivering interactive video at scale. Our infrastructure handles complex broadcasting, low-latency streaming, and high-engagement user experiences. All live, all the time.
We're building a platform where creators can express themselves freely and grow their communities, where viewers discover and interact with creators they're drawn to, and where the team behind it is challenged, trusted, and responsible for shaping the experience of millions of users around the world. We value people who take initiative, stay curious, and care deeply about the quality and impact of what they build.
About the Platform Team:
This is an internal engineering role focused on building platform capabilities for our software engineers. The team owns CI/CD, infrastructure, automation, and developer tooling that improve how services are built, tested, deployed, and operated at scale. This is not a product or platform management role.
The Role
We're looking for a Tech Lead Manager to lead our Platform Engineering team. This role combines hands-on platform engineering expertise with people management responsibilities, ensuring our internal developer platform, CI/CD systems, and engineering automation are designed and built to support internal software engineers at scale.
You'll join an early-stage Platform Engineering team and help shape an internal developer platform from its foundational stages, with significant ownership and influence to set direction, define standards, and build systems that impact engineering, security, and operations across the company. This role enables dozens of engineers to build and ship software more easily, reliably, and enjoyably at scale!
The Team
The Platform Engineering team sits at the crossroads of Security, Operations, and Software Engineering, building and maintaining the foundational systems that other engineering teams rely on to ship high‑quality software quickly and reliably. We own the internal developer platform (IDP), CI/CD, shared tooling, and core automation that reduce friction and surprises so product teams can focus on delivering features instead of fighting infrastructure, pipelines, or yak‑shaving tasks.
You Will
Design and maintain scalable CI/CD systems, self-service workflows, and platform capabilities that support our engineering organization.
Lead and develop a team of 2-4 Platform Engineers through 1:1s, mentoring, goal-setting, and performance management.
Own technical architecture decisions for platform systems by designing solutions that balance developer experience, reliability, and operational simplicity.
Partner with engineering leadership and cross-functional teams to drive platform adoption and embed security, reliability, and compliance into workflows.
Drive hiring efforts by refining candidate profiles, interview rubrics, and ensuring assessments validate real-world platform engineering skills.
Foster a culture of ownership and continuous improvement where engineers are empowered to propose and drive solutions.
Ensure operational health of platform systems through incident response practices, SLAs, and systematic technical debt reduction.
Champion standardization by establishing golden paths for infrastructure-as-code, containerization, and observability.
Automate! Aim to automate as much as possible so engineers can focus on building - not maintaining or doing tedious manual work.
Requirements
You Have
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
5+ years of hands-on experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, SRE, or Infrastructure Engineering roles.
2+ years of experience as a tech lead or team lead, engineering manager, or Tech Lead Manager for infrastructure/platform/Engineering teams, or clear evidence of leading complex platform initiatives and mentoring engineers.
Strong practical experience with CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI) including pipeline design, performance optimization, and secrets management.
Hands-on experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) in production environments.
Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Helm) and solid grasp of cloud infrastructure concepts.
Proficiency in at least one language commonly used for tooling and backend work (Python, Go, Rust, or TypeScript).
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution.
Strong communication skills, particularly when explaining technical trade-offs and constraints to cross-functional partners.
Bonus Points:
Experience building and operating self-hosted CI/CD runner infrastructure
Track record of driving platform adoption across large engineering organizations
Background in security automation or compliance tooling
Experience with observability platforms and debugging distributed systems

Tech Lead Manager - Identity Security
Abnormal Security 4.5
Remote job
Enterprises are undergoing two simultaneous transformations: moving critical infrastructure to the cloud and adopting AI agents at scale. Both create an identity explosion-humans, service accounts, and AI agents now outnumber traditional users 10-to-1, each with permissions that legacy tools can't govern. Abnormal's Identity Security team is building the platform to secure this new reality: unified visibility across all identity types, behavioral intelligence that understands what's normal, and AI-native automation that operates at cloud speed. We're extending the same behavioral approach that made Abnormal the leader in email security to protect identities across cloud infrastructure and AI systems.
The Identity Security team is looking for a Tech Lead Manager to build and lead this critical product area. You'll start hands-on with a small team, shipping code while growing the product toward market fit.
What You'll Do
Lead a team of 2-4 engineers, writing and reviewing code daily alongside them
Collaborate closely on technical direction while building the foundations for a scalable product
Partner directly with internal and external customers to gather feedback and iterate quickly
Grow the team and product as we find traction and expand scope
Set engineering standards and practices that will scale as the team grows
This Role Is a Fit If You
Want to be deeply technical while building leadership skills-you're excited to code, not just manage
Thrive in ambiguity and can guide a small team through uncertainty toward product-market fit
Have strong instincts for what customers need and how to translate that into product decisions
Enjoy the founding-team dynamic: small group, high ownership, fast iteration
This Role Is Not a Fit If You
Prefer managing established teams with well-defined roadmaps
Want to step back from hands-on technical work
Are uncomfortable with the ambiguity of an early-stage product still finding its footing
Requirements
5+ years of software engineering experience with 1+ year in a tech lead or engineering management role
Track record of shipping products in fast-moving environments
Ability to read, write, and review code at a high level (Python/Go preferred)
Experience hiring and developing engineers
Bay Area location required-we operate with 25% in-office presence
Preferred
Experience building enterprise/B2B security products
Familiarity with machine learning systems or ML-adjacent infrastructure
Exposure to AWS, Kafka, containerized services, microservices
Growth Paths
Expand scope as Identity Security grows, taking on additional product lines
Build out a larger team as we scale beyond initial product-market fit
Position yourself for senior leadership as the org matures
What We Offer
The opportunity to join a veteran team that has built enduring ML platforms at Google, Twitter, Pinterest, Amazon, Microsoft, and Expanse. Our customer base includes multiple Fortune 500 companies, and Identity Security is a critical bet for Abnormal's future.

We envision a future powered by robots that work seamlessly with human teams. We build artificial intelligence that enables service robots to collaborate with people and adapt to dynamic human environments. Join our mission-driven, venture-backed team as we build out current and future generations of humanoid robots.
As the Tech Lead/Manager, Embodied AI, you'll lead a mission-critical team: building the AI that lives on the robot. Responsibilities
Lead and grow an embodied-AI team that owns perception, planning, navigation, manipulation, and multimodal ML models, all running on edge platforms
Define the strategic technical roadmap for the robotics platform and embodied-AI capabilities-from foundational models to real-time onboard inference and control.
Architect and guide development of large multimodal ML models-vision, language, tactile-that drive physical robot behaviors, potentially leveraging foundation model approaches.
Oversee integration between edge AI, firmware, OS, hardware, and cloud services for deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
Provide hands-on leadership: mentor engineers, review code and models, and contribute directly to critical system components.
Ensure AI and robotics systems meet safety, robustness, and regulatory requirements; drive performance metrics like latency, reliability, and interpretability.

Proven history of delivering multimodal ML systems into production in real-world, safety-sensitive environments (e.g., robotics, autonomous vehicles).
Strong expertise across perception, path planning, control systems, and model optimization for resource-constrained platforms.
Hands-on technical ability: able to code, train models, debug, and architect systems side-by-side with your team.
Leadership experience in startups or fast-moving R&D environments: you've built teams, set direction, and scaled initiatives.
Track record working with foundation or vision-language-action models, physics-based simulation, or embodied-perception pipelines.
