This is an Engineering Test Technician role is in the Product Integrity department of the Power Management business unit. The Product Integrity team setups and executes test cases to validation new AC Power products. Products may have a regional scope or a global scope. The Engineering Test Technician will setup the unit under test and the instrumentation as per the test plan. They will operate the unit under test and collect data as per the individual test cases. While executing the test cases, the technician will make observations and keep notes regarding the unit under test's performance. All of the data collected and the technician's notes are entered into the test results by the technician. The technician participates in daily standup meetings, keeps their work areas clean and safe, and assists with keeping all the test labs clean and safe. Review order write-ups, operate components, ensure product quality, work with other areas to ensure quality, and verify units to meet agency approvals. Performs experience testing and troubleshoots power conversion equipment prior to shipment. Conducts test following specific test procedures by using measuring instruments and computer test programs Documents test results with appropriate information in a complete manner Uses measuring instruments, assorted related tools, and computer test program accurately. Work with Test and Manufacturing Engineers on test equipment development. Coordinate the development and modifications of test work instructions. Reads and interprets specific test procedures to properly perform and document test results Performs tests to measure strength, durability and maintainability as required Collects test data and prepares reports detailing results Installs, diagnoses, services and repairs electrical equipment prior to shipment of finished product. Configure and connect system equipment (switchgear, SCCT cabinets, and power ties), and perform preliminary inspection and tests. The Engineering Test Technician is responsible for setting up and executing test cases to validate new high-power AC power products, including UPS, Static Switch, and PDU. The technician will set up the unit under test and instrumentation according to the test plan, operate the unit, collect data, and make observations regarding performance. All collected data and notes are entered into test results. The technician participates in daily meetings, maintains a clean and safe work area, and contributes to maintaining the safety of all test labs. Responsibilities * Set up the unit under test and other equipment, involving the connection of large cables up to 50lbs. * Set up instrumentation, including oscilloscopes, power meters, CTs, voltage probes, and other equipment. * Execute test cases, operate the unit under test, and collect data while documenting observations. * Troubleshoot and correct issues with test setups and units under test. * Follow 5S and safety policies. * Suggest opportunities for continuous improvement. Essential Skills * Associate of Science in Electronics or Electrical Engineering, or military certification. * 1 to 5 years of relevant experience. * Broad knowledge of electrical and mechanical test techniques. * Experience with 208/230/480V/600V 3-phase 60/50 Hz wiring and equipment. * Experience with 120V 1-phase 60Hz wiring and equipment. * Experience with instrumentation and low voltage wiring. * Experience with electrical safety tools and techniques. * Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. * Mechanical skills for assembling and disassembling electrical equipment. * Ability to read electronic and electrical schematics. * Good troubleshooting skills for AC and DC power circuits.
