POSITION SUMMARY: The Behavioral Health Therapist is responsible for providing comprehensive, client focused mental health assessment and treatment utilizing individual, group and family modalities to people affected and infected with HIV/AIDS; LGBTQ clients; and the community at large. MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: Provide high quality outpatient mental health treatment for clients who have HIV/AIDS and their families; LGBTQ clients, and the community at large. Develop skills in DBT and other best practice interventions. Identify appropriate levels of care and treatment needs, making referrals when clinically indicated. Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of professionals involved in caring for shared clients via Epic, email, phone, or face to face interactions. Complete comprehensive, client focused assessments, treatment plans and treatment evaluations with all clients. Provide crisis intervention. Assist in development and facilitation of support groups and therapy groups. Demonstrate unconditional positive regard to clients and conduct all aspects of job responsibilities with a focus on exceptional customer service. Maintain client records as directed by agency policies and procedures that will be demonstrated by scoring no less than 90% on quarterly reviews. Document work with clients in electronic health record accurately and within two business days of service provision. Complete a minimum of 10 hours a year of HIV/AIDS and LGBTQ specific training to keep informed about current research and psychotherapy interventions. Other duties as assigned by supervisor. Introduction: Only (No Exceptions) Sign-on Bonus $1500 We are seeking compassionate and skilled Therapists to join our team and provide high-quality care to our clients in our Newark location. The Therapist will assess clients' functional abilities, develop treatment plans, and provide therapy to help clients improve their mental and behavioral skills and abilities. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of evidence-based practices and be able to work collaboratively with clients and other healthcare professionals. Therapist will be paid for 55% of services billed. Responsibilities: Conduct initial assessments to evaluate clients' functional abilities and needs Develop and implement treatment plans based on client goals and needs Provide individual therapy sessions to help clients improve their mental skills Collaborate with clients, families, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and ensure continuity of treatment Document clients' progress and outcomes using electronic medical records Stay up-to-date with current research and evidence-based practices in occupational therapy Participate in professional development opportunities to maintain and improve skills Other duties as assigned Qualifications: Master's Degree in Therapy and/or Social Work Current state license as an Therapist ( LSW, LISW, LPC, LPCC, LPC-MHSP, LPC-S, LSCW, LMHC, LMFT) Minimum of 1+ year of experience as an Therapist Strong understanding of evidence-based practices and ability to apply them in practice Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work collaboratively with clients, families, and other healthcare professionals Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills Perks: T-1099 Position Only Professional development opportunities Positive and supportive work environment COMPREHENSIVE BEHAVIORAL HEALTH ASSOCIATES INC is an EEO Employer - M/F/Disability/Protected Veteran Status View all jobs at this company
