The Systems Engineer 2/3 will perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Design, Implement and support various aspects of the IBMi (iSeries-AS/400) platform
Maintain and deploy any required operating system upgrades and PTF installations
Design, maintain IBM iSeries backups utilizing BRMS, FSFC, and VTL
Knowledge to setup BRMS software and enterprise tape library architecture (save/restore) Expert level
Knowledge to set up and configure Full System Flash Copy(FSFC) Expert level
Knowledge of Mimix replication software, or similar software experience, is required
Knowledge of Help Systems tools such as CCSS, Robot Scheduler, Robot Alert, Nagios or similar software is required
Perform Tuning and Capacity planning as required for all IBM iSeries Systems/Logical Partitions
Provide tier-3 support for operations and applications teams where possible
Assist with various object implementations when requested and adhere to IBM iSeries object level security best practices

Provide 3rd tier support for escalated issues regarding customer systems
