The Genome Informatics and Data Engineering team seeks a Senior Web Applications Developer to support the breakthrough research being conducted in the Regeneron Genetics Center (RGC). As a developer in RGC, you would be building modern web applications to visualize and interact with vast amounts of genetic data. This is a full stack position that involves decoupled front-end development and backend service integration with various platforms and APIs using AWS services.
In this role, a typical day might include:

Developing and testing front-end JavaScript applications written in React. Developing backend APIs in JS to provide data and integrate with other platforms Using AWS (Athena, Aurora, Lambda, ECS, etc...) services for developing containerized and serverless solutions Implementing data visualizations using D3, HighCharts and other open source libraries Designing and styling user interfaces and components Ensuring alignment to architecture guidelines and frameworks related to logging, authentication, security, error recovery, etc. Participating in an agile delivery process to help size stories and own, research, and recommend new solutions

To be considered for this role, you must have Associate's or BS degree with 5-7 years of relevant experience developing and testing decoupled front-end user interfaces and APIs in enterprise environment. Highly proficient in JavaScript with solid understanding of web application architecture patterns. Experience in React, Typescript, NodeJS development, and SQL database. Some experience with AWS services that include, but are not limited to, ECS, Lambda (NodeJS runtime), and API Gateway is preferred.

• Bachelor’s in Information Technology or a related technical field plus 8 or more years related experience.
• Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
• Interest and a willingness to learn new technology and viewpoints.
• 3 or more years of experience in application development in C#, WPF, and/or ASP.Net is preferred.
• Experience utilizing Agile/Scrum Methodologies.
• Front-end UI to middle-tier experience
• Strong analytical, problem solving, and collaborative skills.
• Knowledge of web services and application integrations.
• Experience with any of the following technologies preferred:
  • WebApi and REST Services
  • Microsoft SQL and/or Oracle DB
  • Git source control
  • Azure DevOps
  • Entity Framework or equivalent ORMs
  • jQuery or other JavaScript libraries
  • MVC Controls or other third-party controls
  • Experience writing reports
  • Unit Testing/Test Driven Development/Behavior Driven Design
  • Background or experience in manufacturing or process control
