If you're right for this position, you have solid knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (and applicable browser support) while being mindful of the diverse ecosystem of devices and connections. You've gained plenty of industry experience to have proven success shipping quality web products while collaborating with teams. You care about and are eager to learn the details of deployment, commit history, refactoring, web accessibility, sustainability and other development best practices. You understand the value of the product design and development lifecycle and are willing to dig deep on this topic. You have a standards-centric view of the web, know its limitations and possibilities, and care about performance and progressive enhancement. You're curious about AI and open to exploring new tools and use cases in your work.
In this role, you'll be expected to consult with clients to help them assess their existing design system architecture and implementation, often with the goal of helping identify where they could improve. You'll be responsible for helping define the strategy that will serve them well, while also being able to help lead that strategy through a tactical implementation. We're not a one-size-fits-all kind of company, so we take the time to understand our clients' needs and constraints and make sustainable recommendations along with the plan to deliver. This job includes helping make product roadmaps, understanding the dependencies within a complex design system, assisting with estimates, supporting, teaching, and mentoring clients, writing documentation, establishing processes, and building out system components.
Requirements
We're actively seeking individuals that will bring a diverse perspective to the Sparkbox. Passion and humility are vital, as you'll work directly with our designers, project managers, and other developers at Sparkbox. You'll also interact with clients and should feel comfortable presenting work. You'll need to have a strong desire to continually learn, advance your skills, and push to find new processes.
Basic Requirements:
5-10 years delivering features as a frontend webdeveloper
JavaScript/TypeScript
Frontend frameworks such as React, Svelte, Vue or Angular
Modern CSS

Experience consulting with clients on Design Systems
Optional Skills that interest us:

Experience leading project teams
Inclusive Mindset
Sparkbox has been intentionally working to build a team where we acknowledge our own imperfections, make all feel welcome, and humbly help each other grow. If you can bring a fresh perspective to a team of humble people who love what they do, we'd love to talk with you.
Benefits & Compensation
Our compensation amount for this role is targeted at $95,000 - $120,000 for all remote locations. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.
In return for your outstanding work, Sparkbox offers the following:

Web Developer
Miva 4.5
Remote senior web designer and developer job
We are seeking a full-stack WebDeveloper (WD) with strong solution engineering skills and deep eCommerce experience to join Miva's Professional Services team. The WD develops within the Miva platform using Miva's server-side templating language (MVT), along with HTML5, CSS3, and vanilla JavaScript. We rely on engineering fundamentals rather than frameworks: the WD writes efficient server-side logic to render dynamic content and then enhances the storefront experience with clean, well-structured JavaScript and CSS.
Beyond the storefront UI, the WD serves as the technical bridge between clients' Miva stores and their broader business ecosystems. This includes writing custom integrations with external APIs, ranging from modern RESTful marketing platforms to legacy XML-based warehouse systems, without relying on third-party libraries. The WD must be comfortable delivering large-scale builds, handling ongoing maintenance, troubleshooting, and participating in project discovery across multiple client accounts, while demonstrating strong time management and focus.
This is a client-facing delivery role, not an internal product or R&D position. The WD collaborates closely with Product Managers, UX Designers, and other delivery team members to translate business requirements and user needs into high-performing solutions that adhere to defined scope and timelines and maximize platform capabilities. As a key technical liaison, the WD communicates effectively with clients in both written and verbal forms, and excels at translating complex technical concepts into clear, actionable guidance for non-technical stakeholders.
You will:
Scope, estimate, and execute development tasks based on approved client requirements, signed SOWs, and predefined service offerings
Develop, customize, and maintain eCommerce storefronts using HTML5, CSS3, and modern JavaScript (ES6+ vanilla) within platform template and configuration layers
