The Windows Systems Administration team designs, installs, configures, and maintains all Windows and VMware systems. All systems are configured and maintained to handle the capacity requirements as well as future growth. High availability and disaster recovery solutions are implemented to prevent issues in the event of any level of system failure.

Under minimal supervision, the Windows Systems Engineer Level 3 collaborates with various B&H departments and external resources to actively develop both short and long term projects pertaining to the overall architecture, design, and planning of server systems. Additionally, the Level 3 Engineer assists in the installation, configuration, and overall maintenance of each system. The Level 3 ensures that all server systems are constructed according to current capacity requirements, set up with high availability and disaster recovery, and equipped to handle additional future server loads.

The Level 3 Engineer accurately documents server system statuses and records and corrects major issues as they arise. To prevent many issues, routine diagnostic checks are performed as well as the configuration and installation of system patches, updates, and upgrades.
Essential Responsibilities:


Design, plan, and create architecture for large scale server implementations for strategic business purposes Research all viable solutions and collaborate with other IS teams, consultants, and external vendors for cost effective options on integration of additional server systems as well as upgrades to current systems Recommend and implement system enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the systems Configure, install, and accurately document server environments Diagnose and repair server and software failures Perform an RCA and appropriately document all system issues Maintain and monitor server environments and infrastructure for high availability and disaster recovery requirements Collaborate with Networking/Security teams to ensure proper server configuration Perform patching, update, upgrades, and vulnerability remediation Utilizes project management software and time tracking systems Provide support to lower level Engineers for training or support purposes Participates in on-call rotation and available 24hr (7d/wk, 365d/yr) for any critical issues Create and maintain dashboards

Job Purpose
The Windows Engineer, Senior is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. You will be building and supporting on-premise & cloud systems (VM's / Physical servers) for the Transformation & Modernization Engineering iCTO Team.

Essential Job Responsibilities
Engineer Windows system solutions for various project and operational needs.Install new/rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.Knowledge of TCP/IP networking, architecture, and core technologies (such as DNS, DHCP, HTTPS).Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, to share your knowledge, teach what you know, and learn new ways of doing things from your team.Contribute to and maintain system standards.Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale.Create, change, and delete user accounts per request.Provide Tier III/other support per request from various stakeholders. Investigate and troubleshoot issues.Apply OS patches and upgrades, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure/add new services as necessary.

Basic Qualifications for Consideration
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent job related experience.5 or more years of experience in the following areas: vSphere, VMWare virtualization software including ESX 6.7, SAN Administration, Active Directory administration including GPO design and implementation & MS Windows-based servers.
Preferred Qualifications

This well-known Boston-based e-commerce company is looking for a talented Senior System Administrator to join their team. In the role you'll be remotely overseeing the company's datacenter located in Andover, MA. This position will have primary support responsibility using VMWare, AWS, Microsoft Windows Server 2012, 2016 and 2019. In this role you'll be troubleshooting tickets and generally supporting users, creating runbooks, and contributing to the companies datacenter cloud migration. You'll be working in a Windows environment and using tools including Exchange, active directory, VMware, and Cisco. You'll also be doing some networking (firewalls, routers, switches, etc.). Applicants must be local to the Boston area and be able to travel to Andover, MA in case something in the datacenter cannot be remotely fixed. This is a 1-2 year contract. Responsibilities:
