DepartmentOverview:
We are made up of two operating rooms and one hybrid OR. Nurse will work with a multi-disciplinary team of Cardio-thoracic Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, Cardiovascular Technologists, and Physician Assistants.
The cardiovascular operating room nurse works as part of the surgical services and operating room teams that treat open-heart (cardiovascular) patients. Prepares OR Room, ensures equipment and medications are available for the operating room team. Reviews patient's chart. Assesses patient upon admission and through procedure Prep and positions patient in OR Administers medication, monitor vital signs during procedure. Document's information. Provides a call report to the ICU floor nurse after the surgical procedure. Prepares OR for the next case.
Education: Diploma RN, associate degree RN, bachelor's degree RN, or master's degree RN.
All Direct Care RNs required to have BLS within 90 days of hire. ACLS within one year.

The MA Scribe will function in two distinct roles, MA and clinical scribe. The Patient Access Rep is responsible for all aspects of the patient registration process, including: verifying the patient identity and selecting the correct patient record, reviewing schedules and physician orders to register the patient for the appropriate service, scanning important documents such as insurance cards, ID's, Living Wills, and POAs and verifying and entering the patient's demographic and insurance information in the electronic health record. Job Summary
Facilitates optimal clinical effectiveness of implanted cardiac devices through the application of technical knowledge and skills to evaluate device function and assist with device management in outpatient, procedural and inpatient settings.
RN-Associates Degree or
RN-Bachelors Degree or
Masters Degree Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, or Kinesiology
IBHRE CCDS certification within 5 years of hire preferred
ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
All Registered Nurses who do not have their BSN will be required to sign a BSN Agreement committing to successfully obtain their BSN within 5 years of hire.
Qualifications:
MLD - Master's Level Degree: Exercise Physiology (Required), N-2YR - RN-Associate's Degree (Required), N-4YR - RN-Bachelor's Level Degree (Required)
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) RQI, Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) RQI, Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT) - Certification - Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) - Certification - Other/National, Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) - Certifications - Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), Registered Nurse (RN) Single State - Nursing License - North Carolina, Registered Nurse (RN) Single State - Nursing License - Virginia Department of Health Professionals (VADHP), Registered Nurse License (RN) - Nursing License - Compact/Multi-State License
