This is a hybrid position, with the primary office location at Sentara Independence, and requires travel to Sentara facilities across Virginia and North Carolina.
The SeniorAnalyst performs all aspects of maintaining an optimized print environment, including configuration, installation, testing, and ongoing support of HP MFP printers and Xerox MFD devices. This role partners closely with vendors and internal stakeholders, evaluates end-user requests to recommend the most efficient solutions, and provides technical mentorship to junior team members.
The SeniorAnalyst works independently on complex issues, supports system enhancements and upgrades, and contributes to projects that improve operational efficiency, reliability, and cost effectiveness.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position provides pre-initiation research study evaluation including cost, coverage, and overall financial benefit analysis. Ensures analytical evaluations provide relevant and complete measures of cost, revenue, and billing projections and processing. Ensures regulatory compliance and financial coverage. CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Completes Cost and Coverage Analysis. Completes CCA for all BH research studies utilizing clinical skills, good clinical practices and knowledge of research and government regulations to evaluate each new study and determine appropriate coverage and billing requirements. Serves as a knowledgeable consultant to guide other personnel on the determinations of what patient care items and services are considered standard of care. Creates study budget for any and all research activity occurring within a BH facility to accurately determine relevant costs associated with all research activity. Negotiates study budget, with study Sponsor integrating Medicare Coverage rules and allowances into contract to ensure proper reimbursement and study billing requirements are met. Assesses study financial risk/benefit ratio.
2. Ensures regulatory compliance and financial coverage. Ensures compliance with required federal, state, funding source, and other applicable governing entities regarding regulations, laws, and statutes governing the scope of research activity. Accesses the Clinical Trials Management System to obtain names of human subjects to ensure that research related charges are billed appropriately. Acts as a liaison between finance departments, patient financial services, facility research directors and system reimbursement services for the purpose of communicating information regarding the National Coverage Decision for clinical trials and other federal research regulations. Serves as a resource and provides leadership assistance for research participants; asks questions regarding financial coverage issues to ensure service excellence.
3. Performs for cause and random patient account audits to ensure compliance.
4. Develops and maintains effective project relationships. Coordinates closely with Banner Research and University of Arizona staff in the study approval process; meets project timelines and department goals of optimal clinical, operational, financial and satisfaction outcomes. Interacts with sponsors, physicians, colleagues, facility administrators, facility CFOs and patient financial services to ensure effective communication and project coordination. Translates medical service priorities into effective research development activities and support allocations to ensure research leads to desired outcomes consistent with organizational goals. Leads and administers research projects by promoting research and collegiality between physician investigators, staff, facility administrators, and department heads. Leads, facilitates and or participates in task forces or councils to plan, implement and coordinate programs and/or activities for the organization.
5. This position is responsible for evaluating approximately 100 new study proposals per year with a research budget in excess of $3 million. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Three to five years related experience working directly with clinical research charge review and billing, coverage analysis, and clinical trials budgeting and negotiations. Proven analytical and modeling skills. Working knowledge of computer spreadsheets and other computer applications.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Proven working knowledge of medical terminology and experience with CPT, HCPCS, ICD10 codes as they relate to clinical research billing. Experience utilizing a Clinical Trials Management System.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.

Purpose:
Under the general direction of the management team and senior staff, the Systems Analyst - Senior requires a proficient level of experienced analytical services, defining requirements, developing and/or maintaining computer applications/systems, and providing services to meet client IT and business needs.
Responsibilities:
+ Supporting the new deployment of Hyland OnBase in an Epic hospital environment.
+ Documentation: Complete detail-oriented documentation for new and moderately complex processes. Responsible for the quality and validity of produced documents. Extract and document customer/business requirements and needs for use by enterprise architecture and engineering teams (network, system, and software).
+ Second and Third Level Support (Including Maintenance Activities): Independently triage and resolve Level 2 and Level 3 support issues. Act as a mentor to less experienced staff in resolution of Level 2 and Level 3 issues. Ability to handle problem management as appropriate.
+ Project Management: Take ownership of a project and have the ability to distribute tasks to team members and meet milestone completion. Update all project management and time tracking tools accordingly.
+ SDLC (System Development Life Cycle): Have a proficient understanding of multiple system/application development life cycles.
+ Data Confidentiality/Security: Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information at all times.
+ Data Quality: Maintain data quality at all times.
+ Vendor Relationships: Interact with vendors (technical issues, project initiatives) independently, as necessary. Ability to act as the point person for issue escalation.
+ Report Writing/Analysis: Write and analyze complex reports. Make modifications to complex reports. Mentor less experienced team members. Communicate with the business/act as business analyst.
+ End User Training: Ability to create training content. Facilitate more detailed user training sessions. Ability to train peers.
+ Process Improvement: Ability to manage process improvement efforts. Create and update processes, as necessary. Ability to independently recognize opportunity for process improvements.
+ Application Upgrades and Implementation: Identify new functionality and/or hardware requirements related to application upgrades and implementations. Creates test plans. Responsible for review and validation of functionality. Report back any problems. Create and/or manage cutover plans including downtime, etc. Responsible for evaluating impact and coordinating efforts across multiple platforms as necessary.
+ Communication: Responsible for demonstrating appropriate, clear, concise, and effective written and oral communications in all interactions to build relationships and accomplish day to day work and projects.

The Senior IT Specialty Analyst -Willow Ambulatory,is responsible for the day-to-day support, optimization, and enhancement of pharmacy-related software applications supporting Sentara Retail, PACE, and Specialty Pharmacies. This role partners closely with business and clinical stakeholders to analyze workflows, evaluate system enhancements and upgrades, and recommend solutions that improve efficiency, optimize processes, and reduce operational expenses.
The SeniorAnalyst performs application build, testing, upgrades, and ongoing maintenance while ensuring system stability and high-quality end-user support. This role applies advanced application and clinical knowledge, works independently with limited supervision, and may lead small projects or components of larger initiatives. The SeniorAnalyst also supports change, incident, and problem management processes and provides on-call support as required.
Education
Bachelor's Degree preferred
Experience in lieu of Bachelor's Degree
5+ years of relevant experience with a degree
7+ years of relevant experience without a degree
Certification / Licensure
Required:
Epic Willow Ambulatory Certification
Preferred:
Epic Willow Inventory Certification
Experience
Experience supporting and optimizing pharmacy-related applications, including build, upgrades, and system enhancements.
Experience analyzing business and clinical workflows, documenting functional requirements, and translating them into application solutions.
Experience developing and executing system test plans and validating software upgrades, patches, and releases.
Experience supporting problem, incident, change management, and service request processes in a healthcare IT environment.
Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, clinical users, and operational stakeholders to support application integration and business needs.
Preferred Experience:
Epic Compass Rose build experience
Epic Specialty Pharmacy build experience
Experience with non-Epic pharmacy applications such as Omnicell, pharmacy point-of-sale systems, bi-directional pumps, or similar technologies
We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay rate for Full Time employment is:$91,416.00-$152,380.80. Additional compensation may be available for this role such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.

Triage incoming requests for Epic analytic solutions

Design & develop new analytics content using Epic Hyperspace and MS SQL Development tools
Support end-user training on Epic Cogito Tools & analytic solutions
