This is a full-time 40 hour per week day shift position. The Quality Improvement Coordinator is responsible for providing project management and facilitation, as well as, clinical oversight and support for the development, coordination, implementation and evaluation of quality improvement medical staff performance improvement and patient safety initiatives. This includes organizing relevant task forces, review of evidenced based literature/benchmarks, establishment of indicators for monitoring and evaluation of quality and appropriateness of care, continuous improvement, and achieving targeted goals as well as medical record review, occurrence/complaint investigation and tracking/trending medical staff performance.
Education/Experience/Licensure:

3 or more years of current experience in QI related activities preferred. Experience in a clinical area of an acute care facility with demonstrated leadership, teaching and QI/PI facilitation skills preferred. Knowledge and understanding of regulatory and accreditation agency standards preferred.

- Makes radiation exposures by energizing scanner per physician request and patient history.
- Performs intravenous injections and demonstrates a knowledge of use and care of existing IVs, administers oral, rectal, and IV radiographic contracts agents specific to procedures.
- Assists the radiologist with biopsies, drainage procedures, etc. utilizing sterile techniques, exhibiting safe and effective use of all contrast and radiation materials.
- Maintains a working knowledge of all CT IT systems, including Radiant and PACS.
- Participates in on call rotation as required.

**Job Summary:**

**Summary of Primary Function/General Purpose of Position**
The ultrasound technologist performs ultrasound procedures and related techniques, producing images for the interpretation by, and at the request of, a licensed independent practitioner. **Essential Job Functions:**

+ Explains procedure to patient; prepares patient for procedure by obtaining and recording patient history and consent form (if applicable)
+ Ensures patient comfort, privacy, and safety during procedure; monitors condition of patient and medical equipment that may be disturbed due to the nature of exam and report changes to patient care services
+ Documents sonographer's impressions and relays findings to physician
+ Obtains and records images necessary to demonstrate normal and pathological findings; documents all pertinent information, e.g., lab values, patient histories; demonstrates and maintains clinical competency particularly related to patients who are: newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric as deemed necessary by designated facility
+ Participates in performance improvement projects
+ Assists department in achieving successful results in all federal and state and local agency audits.
+ Participates in the education/instruction of students and the orientation of new staff. -high level disinfection probes per joint commission standards.
+ Must use various ultrasound modalities dependent on the type of anatomy being examined.

**Licensing/Certification**

Responsible for keeping Stockroom areas neat to include assisting with monitor and removal of expired products within area.

**Job Summary:**
The Surgical Assistant, Cardiac Team is responsible for preparing the cardiac surgical room, gathering patient and case specific supplies and equipment. Under the direct supervision of a surgeon, performs first, second or third assistant tasks during an intra-operative procedure to include: providing exposure, retracts to expose anatomy without causing undue pressure on organs and tissues, performs surgical wound repair technique(s) and controls blood loss during cardiac surgery. May be called upon to perform duties in Main OR during normal working hours when not in conflict with Cardiovascular OR responsibilities.
**Essential Functions:**
+ Serves as the surgical assistant on assigned cardiac surgery cases. Functions in the scrub role as assigned.
+ Under the direct supervision of the operating surgeon, handles tissue, provides exposure, uses instruments, sutures, and provides hemostasis, performs wound closure and knot tying, irrigates wound site, uses power equipment and stapling devices.
+ Performs surgical hand scrub, following Surgical Scrub Policy and Procedure. Gowns and gloves self and others, following gowning and gloving policy and procedure.
+ Assists surgeon or scrub person in draping patient to establish the sterile field. Does so in accordance with AORN Standards and Recommended Practices and established departmental policies.
+ Assists scrub personnel and surgeon in applying dressings as requested.
+ Shares responsibility for patient safety at all times. Maintains an environment free of obstacles and hazards that could result in injuries to personnel and patients.

The Director of Laboratory Services oversees all daily laboratory and compliance functions of the Bon Secours Mercy Health assigned region laboratory locations and other duties assigned. Promotes and initiates performance improvement activities. Provides reports, recommendations and action plans needed to meet goals, Joint Commission, CAP and other required standards and regulations.
