Position Summary

Required qualifications:
Masters in nursing, nursing education or education appropriate to subject matter being taught REQUIRED

Minimum of 3 years previous teaching experience in a BSN or allied health program OR demonstrated consistent positive feedback from students; conducted research to enhance body of knowledge in the discipline REQUIRED

Required to work 4 hospitals in the Southside or Western Tidewater regions. Location and unit to be assigned based on greatest need.There are three region options.Must be within 75 miles and 90 minutes of all four hospitals in assigned region.
• Operational hours = 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM 7 days per week
• Flexi - Hours: The team member must enter at least 48 hours of prescheduled time per calendarmonth.
• Facility supported: Members of the team are required to work assigned shifts in all units within the case management specialty. Required to work in 4 hospitals in the Southside or Western Tidewater regions.

Under the general supervision of a Biomedical Engineer or the Director of Biomedical Engineering, an incumbent in this class provides maintenance and technical expertise to medical staff with regard to the operation and maintenance of sophisticated medical equipment. You will be the X-ray service customer service advocate for Chesapeake Regional Medical Center and its associate clinics, doing PM's and repairs on X-ray service equipment (e.g. Rad, Fluoro, C-arms, GE AMX machines, etc.). Performs inspection, testing and repair of equipment of high difficulty, ensuring that equipment functions within manufacturer's specifications and code requirements and in a manner which is safe for both patients and staff. Generally, this would include simple to complex, multi-board and multi-component equipment. Incumbents work independently in repair and preventative maintenance programs. Education and Experience
Minimum Required Education: An Associate Degree in Electronics, Electrical or Biomedical Engineering and four years of experience where the primary function of the position was the repair and preventive maintenance of biomedical equipment, one year of which must have been in a health care facility, or a facility that manufactures or services medical equipment.
A Bachelor's Degree in Electronics, Electrical or Biomedical Engineering may be substituted for the Associate's Degree and for two years of the above experience, but not for the one year of experience which must have been in a health care facility or facility that manufactures or services biomedical equipment; or Satisfactory completion of 60 college credits, which must have included at least 30 credits in Electronics, Electrical or Biomedical Engineering, may be substituted for the Associate's Degree; or A Master's Degree in one of the fields stated above may be substituted for one of the years of general experience.
