Since 1981, the SEPTA Transit Police Department has been dedicated to keeping customers safe and secure, while protecting SEPTA property and staff.
SEPTA Transit Police Officers are responsible for policing the entire regional SEPTA system, covering an area of five Pennsylvania counties (Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia) and three states (Delaware, New Jersey and Pennsylvania).
Nearly 220+ officers serve and protect within the 2,200 square-mile SEPTA service area. There are three patrol districts, allowing officers to easily respond to emergencies while empowering them to quickly make decisions and address local issues.
The SEPTA Transit Police Department extends beyond the regular beat with units of specially trained officers. These units receive an additional level of training and provide specialized support in policing a public transit system.

Salary range: Starting rate in Police Academy (as of 8/31/25) $64,529 - increases to $71,243 after graduation. Future increases up to $85k+.
SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILTIES:
* Enforces rules or regulations.

SEPTA Police Officers' salaries on the level of Police Departments throughout the Philadelphia region.
* $64,529 annually (as of 8/31/25) - Starting rate for six months at the Police Academy

* $81,091 annually - 13 to 24 months of service
* $85,191 annually - After 24 months of service
* Officers with previous service in other Police Departments, will receive up to 3 years of service credit.

OVERALL DESCRIPTION
To perform cost estimating and related duties for SEPTA's Capital Program. These duties include, but are not limited to, reviewing & understanding project design documents, estimating costs for construction projects, reviewing design estimates, monitoring estimated and actual costs, preparing cost estimate reports for management, and reviewing costs for change orders. Will serve as part of Project Control at SEPTA to minimizing Authority exposure and risk associated with cost overruns, particularly as related to full funded agreements.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
* Provides construction estimate for all phases of the Capital Program including grant applications, preliminary through final designs, and construction contracts.
* Performs quantity take-offs for civil, mechanical, and electrical plans and ensuring technical accuracy of estimates for both in-house estimates and third-party estimates.
* Interfaces with Project Managers, Management, Legal Staffs, Designers, Construction Management Consultants, Value Engineering Consultants, and Construction Contractors in the development and review of cost estimates.
* Supports Project Managers in developing tasks and estimating man-hours and costs for review of design, construction management and value engineering consultant proposals.
* Supports Project Managers in review of bid breakdowns.
* Develops, administers and updates a cost database reflecting the history of contractor bids and actual costs for use in preparing future estimates.
* Reviews in-house and contractor change order estimates.
* Develops and updates a Market Conditions Index and recommends, a Market Condition adjustment to the requisition value for construction contracts.
* Assists the Manager, Cost Engineering in the development of SEPTA estimating standards and in-house training seminars.
* Assist Project Management staff to performs cost analyses for delay claims, etc.
* Supports Project Management and Legal staffs in negotiating with construction contractor.
* Attends claims analysis and negotiation meetings, when necessary.

Job Summary

The Director of Customer Care Center Operations plays a critical leadership role in managing the day-to-day performance and long-term transformation of our multi-channel Customer Care Center. This position is central to delivering a hospitality-driven service experience that exceeds customer expectations, while building the operational foundation for scalable, future-ready support.
Working in close partnership with the Senior Director of Customer Care, this leader will help shape and execute the strategic vision for the care center's evolution, from a traditional support function to a dynamic, customer-centric hub that drives loyalty, efficiency, and brand advocacy. Supporting the Senior Director is not only essential to this role; it is a key driver of success, ensuring alignment across initiatives, teams, and business priorities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Job Summary
The Lead Supply Chain Planner is a key member of Amtrak's Supply Chain organization. This role ensures that supply meets customer demand by maintaining optimal inventory levels, developing and implementing contingency plans, and analyzing and resolving critical supply chain gaps. The planner is responsible for strategic supply planning initiatives focused on inventory optimization, including improving fill rates and inventory turns. This position collaborates with production, procurement, and upstream suppliers to reduce costs and achieve optimal inventory levels. The Lead Supply Chain Planner also conducts root cause analysis, identifies process gaps, and drives performance improvements.
Essential Functions
* Inventory Planning Leadership: Manage centralized inventory planning functions to align with Amtrak's operational and financial objectives.
* Program Implementation: Develop and implement inventory planning programs, policies, and procedures to improve material availability and minimize corporate cash investments in inventory and related assets.
* SAP & Field Support: Lead support efforts for SAP users and provide assistance to field employees to ensure customer satisfaction.

Minimum Qualifications

Job Summary
The Lead Instructional Designer is a member of the Training & Development group. They are responsible for delivering training material and programs that meet regulatory requirements for qualification and certification of Amtrak's employees. Initially, this role will specifically work in the development and operation of Amtrak's new Track Foreman Training Program.
This role will utilize the ADDIE model to deliver blended learning deliverables such as instructor led training, eLearning, on the job training programs. This role will also design a diverse mix of multimedia deliverables through graphic design, publication design, video and audio production, on-location video recording, animation, and interactive design. This role may also take part in introducing new technology to support training such as Virtual Reality Training and remote learning technology or assist with the administration of the Learning Management System (LMS).
This position will interface with various stakeholders, subject matter experts (SMEs), instructors, and LMS administrators throughout the organization. It requires technical aptitude, appreciation for process, project management mindset, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work in both office and field settings.

* Follow Amtrak instructional design and multimedia project processes and utilize templates.
Analysis:

Job Summary
Summer 2026 program will run from May 18th - August 7, 2026.
This position is a key member of the Electric Traction Department and will focus on the design and maintenance of substation assets. The position provides engineering support for substation-related aspects of capital projects of all sizes during design and construction phases. Additionally, the intern will assist the team in providing operational engineering support to the Division for maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and upgrades of existing substation assets. The incumbent will be afforded exposure and the ability to develop technical skill in the following areas: AC Traction Power Substation design, High and Medium Voltage Circuit breakers, switchgear, transformers, relay protection, control circuitry, DC battery systems, grounding and bonding, instrumentation, RTU. The intern will participate in the project design review process, respond to RFI's (Request for Information) and accompany the team on site visits in support of project activities.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
This position is seeks a corporate transactional generalist, with emphasis on drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, and/or government contracts. This attorney would provide legal support on environmental matters, host railroad access agreements, railroad operating agreements, state and federal funding agreements, new service development, and support RFPs for passenger rail services. The successful candidate must become fully knowledgeable about applicable federal and state statutory and regulatory requirements, Amtrak's capabilities and constraints, Amtrak's grant agreements, and the needs, obligations, and constraints of Amtrak's stakeholders including state and commuter partners. After an agreement is is executed, the lawyer will provide legal services in the ongoing administration of that agreement including dispute resolution, advice and counseling, bid protests, contract administration, and claims resolution, which can stretch over several years.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Provides legal counsel and guidance on complex railroad operations projects, and business development opportunities.
* Provides legal counsel and guidance on environmental and utilities matters.
* Handle special projects assigned by the Deputy General Counsel.
* Handle and coordinate with clients and other Amtrak lawyers a broad range of activities and functions to ensure effective operations and the achievement of organization objectives in accordance with policies.
* Identify potential legal issues related to business practices and policies and advise client/management.
* Review and interpret laws and regulations.
* Provides oversight and financial management of outside counsel in accordance with Law department guidelines.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
* Juris Doctor from accredited law school and admission to and current good standing in a state or the District of Columbia bar
* Knowledge and experience in governmental contracting at the state or federal level.
* Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, and administering internal corporate programs.
* Demonstrated ability to apply legal and risk analysis to factual circumstances and exercise sound judgment. • Demonstrated ability to both convey clear and accurate legal advice and be solution-oriented to assist clients in achieving business objectives.

The salary/hourly range is $163,000-$211,140. Provide management and support to the Engineering Services group under Capital Delivery. Accountable for all design management and support as it relates to scheduling, estimating, coordinating, document control and planning the executions of design reviews for the Engineering Discipline Leads.
Essential Functions

Safety Innovation & Environment
The Deputy Chief Safety Officer (DCSO) of Safety Innovation and Environment plays a critical leadership role within SEPTA's System Safety Division in advancing SEPTA's safety performance through innovative approaches, comprehensive data analysis, and environmental stewardship. This position oversees Occupational Safety and Environmental Management (OSEM), organization-wide sustainability, safety statistics and reporting which includes safety promotion, safety training, safety communications and data analysis. The DCSO - Safety Innovation and Environment ensures these integrated functions support evidence-based decision-making and drive continuous improvement across the Authority. The DCSO-SIE leads a team dedicated to ensuring compliance with Safety and Health OSHA standards (29 CFR Parts 1910 and 1926) and Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry regulations; environmental EPA regulations such as RCRA, CAA, CWA, CERCLA, and TSCA (40 CFR Parts 260 - 280) and Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection Regulations.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Safety Innovation & Environment
1. Oversees Occupational Safety and Environmental Management (OSEM) to ensure integrated approach to occupational safety, environmental compliance, and workplace health initiatives across all SEPTA operations and facilities.
2. Leads organization-wide sustainability programs including development of sustainability metrics, environmental impact assessments, and green initiatives that align with SEPTA's environmental commitments and regulatory requirements.
3. Oversees comprehensive safety statistics and reporting systems to track, analyze, and communicate safety performance across all modes of transportation and operational areas, ensuring accurate data collection and regulatory compliance.
4.Directs Safety Promotion activities including development of safety awareness campaigns, safety recognition programs, and initiatives that foster proactive safety engagement throughout the organization.
5. Oversees safety training programs to ensure all personnel receive appropriate occupational safety education, environmental compliance training, certification maintenance, and continuous professional development in safety practices.
6. Manages safety communications strategies including internal safety bulletins, environmental awareness communications, external safety messaging, and stakeholder engagement on safety and environmental matters.
7. Supervises data analysts to ensure accurate collection, analysis, and interpretation of occupational safety, environmental, and sustainability data to support strategic decision-making and regulatory compliance.
8. Develops and implements innovative safety technologies and methodologies to enhance SEPTA's occupational safety performance and environmental management while maintaining industry leadership in transportation safety.
9. Coordinates cross-functional safety and environmental initiatives that integrate safety innovation with environmental sustainability, occupational health, and operational excellence.
10. Establishes performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) for occupational safety, environmental management, and sustainability programs to measure effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.

1. Manages relationships with external partners including technology vendors, research institutions, regulatory agencies, and industry organizations to advance safety innovation and environmental best practices.

3. Leads change management initiatives related to safety innovation, environmental programs, and occupational safety improvements to ensure successful implementation across the organization.
4. Coordinates with other DCSO positions to ensure an integrated approach to safety management and environmental stewardship throughout SEPTA's operations.

ADDL / DISCIPLINE RESPONSIBILITIES
Other Duties:
* Ensures compliance with FTA and PennDOT SSOA audit requirements by supporting Directors in preparing documentation, implementing recommendations, and tracking corrective actions.
* Emergency Management liaison and coordinates drills and other activities as required.
* Leads by example in fostering a culture of safety, collaboration, and accountability within the System Safety Division.
* Acts as a trusted advisor to the Chief Safety Officer, providing recommendations on safety-related strategies, priorities, and resource allocation.
* Performs other duties as required by the Chief Safety Officer.
* Serves as Acting Chief Safety Officer as required.
* Duties may be required on a 24/7 basis, with a varying work schedule as required.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
* Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Safety Management, Operations Management, Emergency Management, Transportation, Business Management, Quality Management, Systems Management, or related field.
* Fifteen (15) years' experience in System Safety, Transportation Operations, Occupational Safety, Environmental Compliance, or Emergency Management or equivalent EHS fields
* An equivalent combination of experience and education (i.e., two (2) years of related experience, equating to one (1) year of formal post high school education) may be considered in lieu of the above requirements. Post-Baccalaureate Degree (Masters, Ph.D., etc.) will provide up to four (4) years of related experience to the applicant.
* Must possess a valid driver's license.
* Strong knowledge of Federal Railroad Administration (FRA), Federal Transit Administration (FTA), State Safety Oversight Agency (SSOA), and National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) regulations required.
* Experience in the Public Transportation Industry required.
* Must have a strong understanding of union and management environment and demonstrate the ability to address health and safety matters directly to Union employees and leadership.
* Must demonstrate the ability to pursue/perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Must have excellent verbal and strong technical writing skills.
* Must have strong interpersonal skills.
* Experience with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint required.

Job Summary
Under the guidance of Cost Estimating management, the Lead Cost Estimator prepares cost estimates for mid-sized to large capital construction projects with moderate to high complexity. This role involves close collaboration with the Project Manager and other team members to develop and update project cost estimates. The Lead Cost Estimator adheres to established departmental procedures, guidelines, and best practices throughout the estimate development process and when documenting the basis of estimate, while also supporting management in the development and continuous improvement of existing procedures and practices. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Essential Functions
* Collaborates with the Project Manager and team to create cost estimates at various scope maturity levels using InEight Estimate application and Excel.
* Collects project scope details, drawings, schedules, and execution strategies. Prepares and maintains the Basis of Estimate document to support development of cost estimates
* Perform QC checks on estimates prepared by fellow Estimators on the team and review and assessment of cost estimates completed by others. Provides feedback in prioritized and comprehensive format and develops formal Cost Estimate Review Reports when required.
* Develop cost estimate by identifying work packages, quantifying scope elements, estimating direct cost line items and construction indirect costs, and estimating project "soft" costs such as project management, construction management, etc.
* Support development of project budget contingency to account for estimate uncertainties and potential project risks events. Participates in risk evaluation sessions or pre-construction reviews, and ensures risks are documented and assessed in terms of probability and impact to enable project team development of risk mitigation plans and contingencies
* Assists with preparing and assessing change order impact estimates, mentors' junior estimators, contribute to initiatives in business process improvements.
* Conduct site visits of future and ongoing construction project sites to support cost estimate development and gain knowledge of craft/discipline scope of work.
Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education, training and/or relevant experience.
* Plus 6 years of relevant work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education, training and/or relevant experience.

* Experience developing estimates on large to mega capital construction projects in railroad environment.

o Integration of estimating and scheduling processes, tools, systems, and data.
o Common software tools used in project cost estimating (e.g., InEight Estimate (Hard Dollar), Heavy Bid, Sage Timberline, RS Means) in developing and maintaining cost estimates for large and/or complex construction projects and extracting data to generate analysis and status reports.
o Use of internal financial system data to determine benchmarking to validate and improve estimates.
o Advanced user skills in MS Excel for data analysis.

The salary range is $94,300.00 - $122,256.00. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. Depending on an employee's assigned worksite or location, Amtrak may consider a geo-pay differential to be applied to the employee's base salary. OVERALL DESCRIPTION

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILTIES
* To be proficient in the inspection, cleaning, maintenance of rail vehicle electrical, pneumatic and mechanical equipment.
* Inspects, adjusts, replaces, tests, assembles, installs, motors, accessory parts, vehicle trucks, parts, truck frames, brake equipment, truck assemblies, air equipment, gears, wheels, brake shoes, etc.
* Cleans and lubricates equipment, units, parts such as compressors, air filters, air tank mechanisms, brake cylinders, etc.
* Checks equipment units, parts such as contactor tips for gap, interlock and controlling fingers and tips for wipe and clearance springs for compression and tension, etc.
* Complies with all Authority and departmental safety and security policies and procedures as well as all applicable job safety responsibilities. Reports any safety concerns, compromises or hazards affecting operations, the public, self and/or other employees. Responsible for personal safety and is encouraged to promote the safety of others.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
* High school diploma or equivalent. Mechanical and/or Electromechanical Training and Education is also required.
* Must have mechanical experience maintaining and repairing engines, heavy equipment and/or vehicle chassis.

Assembles, installs, repairs, inspects or tests pipes, fittings, or fixtures of heating, water, drainage systems fire equipment and alarm systems, according to specifications or plumbing codes.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
* Installs and repairs plumbing in: street water and sewer connections, ejectors, drain lines, sprinkler pipe, rain conductors, gas and gasoline pipe tanks and equipment, air pipes, lubrication oil pipes.
* Installs pipe and boiler insulation, brass and copper tubing and fittings, and other related equipment.
* Inspects and tests, fire equipment, alarm systems, grounds and vehicles.
* Installs and repairs brass and copper tubing and related fittings.
ADDITIONAL SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
* Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
* Must be experienced in the installation, maintenance and repair of plumbing and related parts and accessories along with heating, high and low pressure steam and water heating and power units. Must be able to create shop drawings, layout work, compile material lists and complete work reports.
* Must satisfactorily complete qualifications tests: basic mathematics, blue print reading, and plumbing and hand tools.
* Must have valid Philadelphia journeyman's card.
* Must have valid driver's license. Will be required to obtain CDL permit within 60 days of transfer.
* There will be times in the course and scope of your duties in the CTD when working in a truck-mounted bucket will be required. Said bucket has a maximum extension capacity of approximately 30 feet high.
* As part of the qualification test, you will be required to climb an extension ladder (of approximately 20 feet) and descend back to the ground.

Job Summary
The Northeast Corridor Commission is seeking a highly motivated candidate to join its hard-working and enthusiastic staff. The Commission was established by Congress in the Passenger Rail Investment and Improvement Act of 2008 to coordinate among agencies that share the region's core rail network. With historic funding from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), corridor stakeholders are now advancing the most ambitious NEC capital investment program in decades, supported by the Commission's collaborative planning & reporting, cost-sharing, and interagency coordination processes. While the Commission is administratively hosted by Amtrak, it is an independent team of transportation professionals.
The Lead DevOps Engineer is a key resource for technology support for the Commission's staff of about 20 professionals. The position oversees complex software development projects and provides subject matter expertise and technical direction on IT infrastructure and administration. Primary responsibilities include custom software development and maintenance, database administration, and working with Commission leadership and functional teams to assess technology needs and deploy new tools and resources that enhance productivity. The role also includes oversight of consultants providing software development, helpdesk support, and other technical services.
Essential Functions
* Own and lead IT systems development; confirm requirements and specifications are clear, follow a documented development/build methodology, and make sure a robust unit, system, and integration testing regimen is followed to deliver solutions per designs.
* Provision and configure databases and cloud computing resources to support upcoming deployments; monitor, analyze, and optimize infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines for performance and cost-efficiency; create and update documentation as necessary to ensure architectures, designs, and other descriptions are up to date and describe the as-deployed system.
* Expand and manage the NEC Commission's cloud infrastructure to support deployment of new tools and resources. Working with leadership, drive development of a technology roadmap for growing the NECC's offerings to its members and the public. Ensure all work is in harmony with industry and organizational standards.
* Develop new data pipelines to support staff workstreams; automate and/or redesign existing data pipelines.
* Research and propose the adoption of existing software and other technologies based on business needs and/or oversee the deployment of such technologies.
Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Transportation Planning/Engineering
* 5+ years of experience in a DevOps or software development role, with specific experience in pipelines-as-code, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code
Preferred Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Transportation Planning/Engineering
* 8+ years of relevant experience OR Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Transportation Planning/Engineering
* Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure Development Associate, Azure Administrator Associate)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* Extensive experience with PostgreSQL
* Proficiency with versioning (preferably GitHub) and containerization (preferably Docker)
* Strong understanding of cloud platforms (especially Azure and Digital Ocean)
* Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Go or Bash)
* Ability to focus on business goals while ensuring development is completed on time
* Proven ability to translate between technical and business language
* Ability to identify, propose, and oversee the execution of business and IT solutions as well as interpret documents communicating business and IT needs and requirements
* Excellent troubleshooting skills
* Familiarity with principles of transportation planning, geography, and/or the political and operating structures of the Northeast Corridor
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
The salary/hourly range is $103,700.00 - $134,460.00. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. Depending on an employee's assigned worksite or location, Amtrak may consider a geo-pay differential to be applied to the employee's base salary. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Metro/Rail Technical Instructor
* Prepares, adapts and implements basic programs to specific applications using objective guided course evaluations. Evaluates programs for effectiveness. Develops and maintains programs suitable for performing the goals of Technical Training with the most efficient means using state of the art technology.
* Develops specialized and advanced training programs for SAM, as well as hourly, employees in accordance with client demands, needs analysis and maintenance data.
* Researches, develops, and/or procures instructional aids required for technical training including, but not limited to printed data, films, audio and video tapes, charts, circuit boards and diagrams.
* Assess student comprehension and progress by preparing, evaluating and administering verbal, written and task performance tests.
* Tutors students to determine their understanding of course data and their proficiency in equipment maintenance and repairs.
* Consults with training support personnel for the purpose of developing an organized, comprehensive and highly motivating curriculum.
* Consults with maintenance and maintenance support managers to determine instructional requirements and monitors impact of training for long term effectiveness in achieving client's maintenance objectives. Keeps records of the instructional influence on component and vehicle failure rates.
* Conducts training sessions using the latest methods and insights into adult learning and education, both theory and practice.
* Supervises students, both SAM and hourly, to ensure optimal work management while they are in a training session.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
* High School Diploma plus three (3) - four (4) years relevant vehicle rail maintenance experience. An equivalent combination of Technical School or advanced education in a relevant field (one year education equates to two years of experience), may be considered.
* Must possess valid driver's license.
* Based on departmental needs, strong skills in one or more of the following areas will be required; mechanical, electrical, electronics, HVAC, and computer software.
* Knowledge of modern rail maintenance practices and procedures required.

* Dissembles, inspects, repairs, renews, gauges, tests, cleans, paints, replaces, rewires, adjusts, reassembles, assembles as required: contactor parts, group switches, contactor box parts, sequence switch parts, rail vehicle controllers, breakers.
* Disconnects wiring and bolts and removes controllers from compartments; replaces or repairs and replaces parts such as overload relays, various types of contractors, resistor coils, various resistance units, contact tip and springs, interlocks and other related parts.
* Performs troubleshooting duties on vehicle wiring; performs wiring and conduit work; test electrical equipment; inspects and adjusts for final test.

OVERALL DESCRIPTION
Maintains, troubleshoots, calibrates and repairs all rail vehicle electronic printed circuit boards and subsystems assigned to the Rail Vehicle Electronic Repair Shops. As an experienced specialist, provides technical support to all rail locations and assists SEPTA's engineering department with electrical/electronic projects.
Compensation Data
For City Transit Division: $38.40/ hr. Increase to $42.67/hr. after one year
For Regional Railroad Division: 40.48/hr. Increase to 44.98 after one year.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILTIES
* Maintaining, troubleshooting, calibrating and repairing all rail vehicle electronic printed circuit boards and subsystems assigned to the Electronic Repair Shops and to provide technical support to all rail locations and to assist SEPTA's engineering department with electrical/electronic projects.
* Troubleshoots, repairs and calibrates analog, digital and micro-processor controlled printed circuit boards down to component level for the type of Rail Vehicle and equipment assigned.
* Interprets electrical, electronic and mechanical schematics.
* Removes and inserts semiconductor devices including through-hole and surface mount devices using soldering/de-soldering equipment.
* Conducts diagnostic test using equipment such as voltmeters, ammeters, oscilloscopes, curve tracer, automatic test equipment, programmable multifunction generators, high voltage power supplies, frequency counters, chart recorders, current probes, EPROM programming systems, high potential tester, megohmmeters and computers
* Performs diagnostic tests on rail vehicles with portable and on-board test equipment as required.
* Operates computer-controlled Automated Test Equipment (ATE) to test and troubleshoot printed circuit boards.
* Interprets and edits test software for Automated Test Equipment (ATE).
* Repairs open conductors on multi layered printed circuit boards.
* Repairs damaged conductors, edge connectors, and plated holes using circuit repair kits.
* Tests and repairs high power semiconductor modules.
* Performs failure analysis on printed circuit boards and makes recommendations to increase their reliability.
* Writes procedures to test and calibrate printed circuit boards as well as on-board vehicle system/system faults with the assistance/approval of the Engineering Department.
* Designs and fabricate diagnostic test equipment for printed circuit boards
* Performs acceptance inspection on new printed circuit board test equipment.
* Maintains and repairs automatic test equipment, test fixtures, power supplies, meters and other test equipment.
* Assists Operation's Managers, Engineering Department and vendor representatives with the installation, development, commissioning and troubleshooting of new as well as existing rail equipment including operational testing on test tracks or Rail Vehicle routes.
* Inspects, repairs, and calibrates the LRV power brake vital safety relay.
* Provides technical support for rail vehicle electrical/electronic equipment.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
* Complies with all Authority and departmental safety and security policies and procedures as well as all applicable job safety responsibilities. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

* Must possess valid driver's license.
* Special Knowledge and Training. Handling of static sensitive devices, ability to interpret electrical, electronic, software and mechanical schematics; use of soldering and de-soldering equipment; use of complex electronic measuring instruments; ability to troubleshoot and repair a variety of rail vehicle propulsion systems; use of computer software to diagnose and repair rail vehicles; ability to use stereo microscopes; use of IEEE graphic symbols for logic functions; quality control standards.
* Must pass written test and performance testing as required.
* Must have good hand and eye dexterity to work with extremely small electronic components.
* Must satisfactorily complete performance test as required by labor agreement.
* Working Conditions: Rail Vehicle Electronic Technicians work primarily in the electronic repair shop and occasionally at other rail vehicle locations.
