Patrols buildings and grounds and identifies unsafe conditions and improperly secured areas/property to help prevent theft, injuries, or damages. * Provides a high level of customer service by interacting with patients, visitors, and staff in a professional manner that is proactive, friendly, and helpful. Creates safety awareness among the Institute community. * Responds to emergencies, including medical incidents for adult and pediatric patients and active response. Assists with potentially violent patients and detains individuals suspected of criminal conduct. * Conducts preliminary investigations into thefts, shortages, and other complaints involving potential misconduct. Gathers, analyzes, evaluates, and utilizes facts and evidence. Interviews victims, complainants, witnesses, and suspects. Maintains accountability for valuables/property and other forms of evidence. * Prepares and submits written reports and logs all incidents thoroughly and accurately. * Conducts fire extinguisher inspections per assignment of SOD, responds to fire drills, and provides escorts for staff, visitors, and patients. * May be assigned to special duties, off-site locations, and/or other shifts.
