General Job Information This position is located in the D.C. Department of Corrections (DOC), Central Detention Facility (DC Jail) and Correctional Treatment Facility (CTF). As an entry level Correctional Officer, incumbent serves in a developmental capacity, under the overall supervision of a Supervisory Correctional Officer and a Training Coordinator. Incumbent undergoes an intensive training program, which consists of formal classroom instruction, demonstrations, selected reading in the correctional field, and on-the-job training (OJT) under close supervision. Campus Safety Officers are responsible to the Director of Campus Safety through the command structure for the protection of life and property on the McDaniel College campus. Officers work variable shifts and are expected to be available for occasional overtime, and holiday work. Additional training occurring both on and off campus will be assigned. Officers are expected to develop familiarity with additional areas of personal interest/expertise needed and assigned by the Department.
