Duties
During the course of their careers, Uniformed Division Officers carry out assignments in protection. Duties include:
Providing protection for The White House Complex, The Vice President's Residence, The Main Treasury Building and Annex, and foreign diplomatic missions and embassies in the Washington, D.C. area.
Traveling in support of the Presidential, Vice Presidential, and foreign heads of state/government missions.
Enforcing mandated protective responsibilities as described under Title 18, United States Code, Section 3056A.
Requirements
U.S. citizenship is required.
Possess a current valid U.S. driver's license.
Be at least age 20 and less than age 37 at the time you receive a conditional offer of employment, unless you have previous service in a Federal Civilian Law Enforcement position covered by special law enforcement or firefighter retirement provisions, including early or mandatory retirement. Applicants with veteran's preference must receive a conditional offer of employment prior to reaching age 40 to continue in the application process.
Carry and use a firearm. Maintaining firearm proficiency is also mandatory.
Possess uncorrected visual acuity of no worse than 20/100 binocular. Possess corrected visual acuity of 20/20 or better in each eye.
Hearing loss, as measured by an audiometer, must not exceed 25 decibels (A.S.A. or equivalent I.S.O.) in either ear in the 500, 1000, and 2000 Hz ranges. xevrcyc Applicants must be able to hear the whispered voice at 15 feet with each ear without the use of a hearing aid.

All officers respond to emergencies and calls to assist with combative patients or visitors, fire alarms, infant/child abduction, active shooter etc. On a routine basis each officer will perform inspections for hazards and unusual situations, lock or unlock doors. Officers are required to exhibit customer excellence at all times and model the VH mission, vision and values.
Each officer properly and completely documents all rounds; writes the necessary reports about all incidents; submits reports by the end of the shift during which the pertinent incident occurred. Officers must be proficient in the use of the RMS Public Safety incident computer-based system and the VH Risk Qual System. Officer must know when to communicate information confidentially and which method of communication should be used for the type of communication being given.
Each officer immediately corrects problems or writes appropriate work orders or memos or reports problem to safety officers and others when safety related problems are observed; Public Safety Officers inspect fire extinguishers and eye wash stations and conduct or assist others in conducting other safety and Public Safety inspections such as Environment of Care Rounds as assigned; test and check alarm system equipment and other equipment as assigned to make sure they are functioning correctly; perform fire watches when requested; monitors Camera systems, Infant Abduction systems, Fire Alarm systems, Medical Gas Alarms, and generator alarms. Investigates reports of loss and damage property and reports of criminal activity. Assist law enforcement within custody individuals as needed.
Each officer is required to have a strong working knowledge of the facility assigned, Campus grounds and all related buildings on Campus; analyze and coordinate responses to all alarms on the property; respond to emergency incidents and provide physical Public Safety to our command location; perform inspection of buildings, doors (interior and exterior) to make sure they are opened on time and secured after the regular business day; pick up cash deposits daily to be delivered to the cashier's office in the. Officers are requested periodically to search patient rooms and patient property for contraband and if found to take the proper safety steps to render them safe. Respond to AirCare landing and take offs.
Each officer is courteous to the public (patients, visitors, employees, doctors, sales and service people, neighbors and passers-by, etc.). Shows a professional attitude consistently; promptly responds to such requests 95 percent of the time. When this is not possible because of higher priority, the person or department requesting services is promptly notified. Officers provide detailed directions when requested by a visitor or patient; provide escorts to staff members when requested on off business hours. Provide patient and staff Public Safety and safety stand by for terminations, TDO hearings. Escorts disgruntled individuals from the building or property.
Responds to emergency calls for service consistently in a prompt manner. IE. Fire, Biological, Mass casualty, Hospital Lock Down, Radiation Emergencies and Active Shooter; uses sound judgment and discretion in handling such calls 100 percent of the time; prepared to assist special needs patient population; assists in transporting patients to BHS; monitor ECO/TDO patients; intervenes in patient, visitor or family disputes and maintains order. Provides assistance to staff when they are working with an aggressive person and intervenes as necessary before staff are injured.

Campus Safety Officers (CSOs) are responsible for creating and maintaining a safe and secure environment where the Randolph College community can learn, live, and work confidently. CSOs interact routinely with students, faculty, staff, guests, and non-community members. Officers tour grounds and buildings, identify, address, and remove unsafe factors, conditions, or distractions. CSOs respond to emergency situations, check fire and safety equipment, enforce college rules and regulations, provide a safety escorts, and monitor key building systems. Risk mitigation is an important component of a Campus Safety Officer's duties. CSOs are considered essential employees as part of a twenty-four hour, seven day per week operation. FLSA Classification Nonexempt Reports to Campus Safety Supervisor Summary/objective Campus Safety Officers (CSOs) are responsible for creating and maintaining a safe and secure environment where the Randolph College community can learn, live, and work confidently. CSOs interact routinely with students, faculty, staff, guests, and non-community members. Officers tour grounds and buildings, identify, address, and remove unsafe factors, conditions, or distractions. Campus Security Authority/Mandated Reporter on matters pertaining to sexual misconduct. Communicates via two-way radio, portable/hand-held or base station, with coworkers, Communications Operators and other college employees. Acts as a liaison between Randolph College and the city, state, and federal law enforcement agencies serving the area or region. Tours and completes safety and security checks of assigned buildings and grounds, including exterior doors, windows, and key building equipment such as boilers, air conditioning systems, etc., as directed. Contacts appropriate maintenance personnel if necessary to respond to equipment failure or facility repairs of an urgent nature. Responds immediately to fire alarms, ensuring evacuation of buildings and identification of hazards; resets alarms and ensures ready status as necessary. Inspects fire fighting and safety protection equipment, interior and exterior lighting as required by applicable codes or statutes, and in accordance with policy established by the college. Responds to perimeter intrusion alarm activations of college properties and facilities. Assists the Division of Student Affairs with scheduled fire drills, in compliance with campus policy and Federal mandates regarding fire safety standards. Assists the Division of Student Affairs with personal safety education programs, and with general security assessments offered by the Department of Campus Safety. Performs pickup and delivery of the U.S. Postal Service mail daily for the college (Monday through Saturday, with exceptions for federal holidays) and delivers to campus Mailroom. Provides transportation, delivery and pick-up of monies and media to/from local financial institutions for the college's Business Office and or Institutional Advancement Division. Provides off-duty security for college events as needed. Staffs the college's Reception and Information Desk as needed. Designs, delivers and/or transmits emergency notifications or timely warnings during urgent or unusual conditions, occurrences or situations. Tours parking areas within the assigned patrol area, issuing citations for violations, applies boot immobilization device to vehicles when necessary, according to existing parking regulations. Ensures fire lanes are kept clear and initiates towing as necessary, in accordance with existing parking regulations and/or posted signage. Provides safety escort services by foot or vehicle for students, employees, or guests when requested. Provides access to on/off campus buildings when requested; verifies that such access is allowed and is necessary. Provides First Aid, C.P. R. and A.E.D. rescue techniques when needed.
