RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL:
Assemblers must be able to perform a combination of production assembly tasks to ensure conformance to specifications and continuous production consistent with established standards. Assembles parts to form complete unites or subassemblies at a bench or conveyor line in an open-air manufacturing environment. May be assigned to work in any area of the facility where required including final assembly, subassembly, and insulation.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
Performs a combination of production assembly tasks using hand tools, small power tools, and other special equipment following detailed assembly instructions, processes and procedures (written and verbal) to meet and exceed customer expectations. Reads and interprets blueprints, engineering specifications, engineering drawings, and shop orders to assemble final and subassembly products. Operates within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs).
Safety Awareness - Take responsibility for their own safety as well as the safety of others. Understand the proper processes/equipment in the department. Knowledge of JSA's, PPE usage, 5S, and all safety regulations in the facility. Maintains a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions and complies with all safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.
Quality - Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisors. Performs first article inspection for conformance to specifications both blue print and work order.
Teamwork - Builds teamwork by working with other departments, shifts, and management to meet and exceed customer expectations. Communicate regularly and effectively with co-workers, utilities, coordinators, and management and reports problems with safety, quality, processes, equipment, materials, and/or questionable conditions to the Department Supervisor. Displays professionalism in the workplace, able to perform duties during times of stress and pressure.
Continuous Improvement - Ability to manage time and deliver results. Ability to troubleshoot and provide solutions with the understanding of value-add versus non-value add activities and improve the ratio.
Flexibility. Availability to work overtime and/or move between shifts for training and/or coverage purposes to support production as needed. Will train on and be expected to perform all assembly positions in all production areas and on all product varieties within the facility.
Demonstrated ability to use computer utilizing software such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and ERP systems. Relevant knowledge to look up production orders, key parts into inventory, and use the system as a tool to assist in production.
Perform other assignments as directed by management.

Requires a high school diploma/GED and previous experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.

Job Summary
Principle Accountabilities:
Reads work orders, follows production drawings and sample assemblies.
Positions and aligns parts in specified relationship to each other in jig, fixture or other holding devices.

Mounts assembled components to boards or units.
May install multi-level subassemblies and modules into Racks using complex configurations.

Performs intermediate assembly tasks, such as potting, encapsulating, sanding, cleaning, epoxy bonding, curing, stamping, etching, impregnating and color-coding parts and assemblies.
Tends machines that press, shape or wind component parts.
Performs online go-not-go testing and inspection to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and standards.
Sets up station with the correct documents and components per assembly drawing.
Handles/install polarized/non-polarized components on designated location on product.
Adjusts or trims materials from components to achieve specified electrical requirements or dimensional characteristics.

SPECIALIZED JOB RESPONSIBILITIES may be required for certain positions. These could include one or more of the following duties:

Will complete light physical tasks such as changing conveyor width, loading boards on pallets

What a typical day looks like:
Read and interpret work orders, manufacturing procedures, work instructions, wiring diagrams, and prints to manufacture wiring subassemblies for relay and control panels
Crimp, strip, cut, pull, and bundle wiring according to plans
Ensure wiring is properly labeled and marked
Connect cut wires to components, and routing the wire and cables in an orderly fashion
Ensure quality workmanship of all wires and components
Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area
Complete other duties as assigned
The experience we're looking to add to our team:
High school diploma or equivalent
1-2 years of experience in wiring or installing electrical components OR completion of a technical vocational program
Strong attention to detail and ability to perform work accurately
Knowledge of manufacturing, equipment maintenance, and safety management

Detect faulty operations or equipment, discrepancies in material, specifications or other unusual conditions and report to proper Supervisor. Record applicable job information as assigned.

* Use hoists, low lift hand truck and carts to position or move transformers to assigned locations, use pneumatic tools, ratchets, wrenches and applicable equipment and hand tools.
* Install various insulating materials, fasten, mount, tighten, square, gauge brackets and specified hardware to meet dimensional and functional requirements and conformance.
* Perform other related duties in accordance with production workload requirements as assigned.
* Detect faulty operations or equipment, discrepancies in material, specifications or other unusual conditions and report to proper Supervisor. Record applicable job information as assigned.
* Maintain work area in neat and orderly condition. Make out time and production reports.
* Observe all prescribed safety regulations.
* Train new hires and cross-train existing personnel as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* Education: Ability to use specifications, schedules, wiring diagrams, and basic arithmetic.
* Experience: 9-12 months of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
* Initiative & Ingenuity: Ability to independently perform assembly tasks, including transformer lamination and installation of brackets and insulating materials, with judgment to follow standard procedures.
* Physical Demand: Moderate physical effort, including frequent lifting and moving of materials.
* Mental/Visual Demand: Continuous attention required for tasks.
* Responsibility for Equipment: Careful performance needed to avoid minor damage to tools and equipment.
