    Job Description Responsible for providing fast, friendly, professional food and beverage service to Saracen guests. All functions will be performed within the guidelines of the Saracen Casino Resort policies and procedures, Internal Control Standards and objectives. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Picks up food product for orders placed by the service staff and delivers the meal to our guests. Assists the kitchen and service staff as needed to maintain the highest level of food quality, presentation, and timing to optimize our guests dining experience. Sets up the front line with the equipment, plate ware, and small wares needed to effectively serve all food products. Keeps station restocked throughout the shift. Accurately describe all food and beverage items on the menu and answer questions about those items. Reads order tickets as they arrive and place onto ticket minder. Tracks cooking times on all orders, checks finished product for proper degree of doneness, appearance, and plate presentation. Garnishes finished entrees according to house specifications and procedures. Assists the server as needed to optimize the guest's dining experience. Accomplishes all job duties while adhering to all safety guidelines and practices throughout the shift. Reports any unsafe condition, unsafe act, accidents and/or injuries to the chef or other manager on duty. Correctly completes all opening, closing, and running duties including side work in the front and/or back of the house as assigned and scheduled by the members of the management team. Inventories stock, fills requisitions and communicates with the kitchen and beverage department in order to maintain proper levels of foods and beverages at all times Monitors, prepares, displays and maintains food items to insure presentation and freshness throughout the shift Operates and maintains all equipment and utensils as required in accordance with established guidelines and safety procedures Maintains, cleans, organizes and stocks prep area in accordance with established property guidelines to include health and safety Monitors guest consumption of alcohol and intervenes as needed according to guidelines Provides personalized service and uses guest name Resolve service problems according to guidelines Adheres to regulatory, departmental, and company policies in an ethical manner Provides exceptional customer service to all patrons and communicates in a pleasant, friendly, and professional manner at all times. Essential Functions: Set-up events according to BEO and floor plan outlines, including moving tables and chairs, setting linens, flatware, and glassware, arranging décor, building a buffet line, and all other assigned pre-function duties. Follow all buffet service and plate service standards. Servers will greet guests, answer questions, take food and beverage orders, deliver completed items, do 2-minute check backs and present accurate guests checks, collect and process payments. Although support staff may be scheduled to assist, primary responsibility for the entire guest experience after seating and up to departure falls to the server. RESPONSIBILITIES (PRIMARY) Welcoming Guests Within 1 minute of seating, visit the table to acknowledge new guests. This should be done in person but if delayed, either make eye contact and smile to convey recognition or ask another employee to greet you. Greetings should be polite, friendly and professional. Thank the guests for choosing to join us and ask the guests if they have visited before. Finishing the Table When it appears that some of the guests are finishing, ask if they would like their empty plates removed. If food remains, leave the plate unless they push it away. If food remains but they are finished, ask if they would like to go packaging. As you clear, offer coffee or other drinks. Bring a menu for desserts and point out the selections. If nothing else is desired, immediately review the written orders and verify all items have been recorded, print the check and leave it at the table, saying you will take it when they are ready. Watch for payment to be presented, pick up, process and return quickly. When the payment is picked up, thank the guest for coming in and that you hope they will visit again soon. If payment is made in cash, return change in a mixture of bills that the guest may use for a gratuity if desired. For example, if the change is $10.30, return a five, five ones and the silver. Do not ever ask if change is desired, return it so all decisions are up to the guest. You may choose to round pennies up, never round down. If a card is used, and you know whose card is used, it is a nice touch to thank the guest who pays by name when you return the card and payment slip.
