As Server/ Bartender, you will be responsible for waiting on and serving food to restaurant guests in a friendly, professional and efficient manner. How will you do this? The following are the essential functions and responsibilities of the job: Greet guests and respond to guest inquiries and requests in a timely, friendly and efficient manner.? Present menu, answers questions and makes suggestions regarding drink, food, and service. Write order on check or memorizes it. Relay and/or enters order into POS system for the kitchen and serves courses from kitchen and/or bar. Observe guests to fulfill any additional requests and to perceive when meal has been completed. Mix and garnish beverages according to recipe and portion control standards.? Present and serve beverages to guests.? Accurately total, process and collect payments from guests to include, but not limited to, using the point-of-sale system, handling money, processing credit and debit cards, making change and processing gift certificates, cards and vouchers.? Stock and maintain the bar to include, but not limited to, beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments, glassware, ice and produce? Check guests for proper identification and serve alcoholic beverages to guests in accordance with federal, state, local and company laws and regulations.? May assist with plating and delivering meals to guests.? Work with the hotel team to create and deliver a memorable service experience for guests.? Handle guest requests personally and/or refer to another team member as appropriate.? Provide guests with the finest quality of service at all times in a warm and enthusiastic manner.? Maintain a professional image at all times through action, appearance and dress.? May assist kitchen staff by ladling soup, tossing salad, portioning desserts, brewing coffee, and performing other services as determined by needs of the restaurant. Strong customer service and interpersonal communications skills required Able to maintain positive client relationships. Able to easily and quickly lift and carry heavy trays. Speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language, proficiently. Ability to speak other languages in a multicultural work environment can be extremely helpful in facilitating good communication among all hotel team members. Able to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple tasks. GENERAL NOTES Servers will be required to work varying schedules as dictated by the business needs of the hotel. This includes attendance at all scheduled brand and job specific training sessions and meetings. May require nights, weekends, and holidays. Consistent attendance in accordance to the standards set forth by Converge Hospitality Group must be maintained and is an essential element of the success in this role. Physical requirements for this position include: Continuous standing, bending, lifting and carrying items up to 25 pounds including food service trays to and from the kitchen. Must be able to smile at all times while maintaining a positive service attitude at all times. Ability to clearly and cheerfully communicate with all guests. Must be able to hear and communicate via headset. Able to be on their feet for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to balance and carry multiple food and beverages to and from dining area. Must be able to bend and reach to clean under and around tables, booths, and other seating; as well as reaching to restock necessary items for FOH products as necessary part of side work. Position Classification: The position for which you are being considered is a part-time position, which, for purposes of the new federal health reform law, satisfies federal standards. Under those federal standards, work is part-time if someone works 29 hours or less a week on average. This average is not calculated on a week-by-week basis. Instead, a measurement period, also known as a look back period, is used to determine the average hours an employee works per week. Work hours may fluctuate from time-to-time depending on business needs and how hours are scheduled. Simply because hours may increase from time-to-time does not mean the position ceases to be a part-time position; it does not mean the position is full-time for benefits or other purposes. Variation in hours is part of the job position and may be such that you work well over 30 hours per week for an extended time. All changes to full-time positions will be documented with a formal notice; in the absence of that designation by us, a change has not occurred. Federal law states that an employer is to measure its employees hours worked to determine possible future health plan eligibility; therefore, if you are hired, we will track any hours worked over a 12-month period starting with the first day of the first month following the date of hire.
