Job Description The Bar Prep at KYU plays a crucial role in ensuring that the bar can efficiently and consistently execute its drink menu. The Bar Prep is knowledgeable about beverage preparation, ingredient handling, and relevant technical processes, and is comfortable working collaboratively with other bar and kitchen staff. Bar Prep at KYU take ownership in preparing and managing all bar ingredients, maintaining their stations, and assisting in crafting drinks according to restaurant standards and specifications. Responsibilities: Preparing and managing bar ingredients and relevant recipes related to beverage preparation. Proper and hygienic handling of all ingredients used in drink preparation. Appropriate storage and care of bar supplies and ingredients. Following instructions provided by the Bar and Chef Teams. Ensuring that all beverage preparation and storage areas meet health and safety standards. Maintaining inventory of all bar supplies and ingredients. Collaborating with bar and kitchen staff to properly prepare and serve drinks. Setting up and stocking the bar with all necessary supplies. Assisting bartenders and service staff as needed. Keeping the bar station clean, organized, and efficient. Rotating inventory correctly. Ensuring that all nutrition and sanitation standards are followed. Monitoring and reporting inventory needs to the Bar Manager. Skills and Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent qualification. Certificate in Culinary Arts, Mixology, or related experience. Barbacks work behind-the-scenes to support bartenders and waiters during their shift. They also assist with bar opening and closing procedures.
