Description Professional, high-energy Barback with excellent communication skills. The Barback serves as a support to the Bartender staff. in creating classical cocktails and exciting new beverages to our customers. The Bartender will greet customers, learn about their preferences, answer questions, recommend menu items, and prepare and serve beverages and food. You will also upsell items, create recipes, utilize proper equipment and ingredients, and handle basic cleaning duties. As a Bartender, you should have a neat appearance and engaging, friendly personality. You should be efficient, observant, knowledgeable, and personable. The bartender is responsible for mixing, serving, and garnishing all alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to the venue's standards. Checking identification to ensure customers are the legal age to purchase alcohol. Taking inventory and ordering supplies to ensure bar and tables are well-stocked. Handling cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate and returning correct change to patrons, balancing the cash register. Maintaining a clean work and dining area by removing trash, cleaning tables, and washing glasses, utensils, and equipment. Developing new cocktail recipes. Greet Guests and attend to them in a polite friendly manner. Have and maintain knowledge of facility, surrounding area, prices and menu items offered. It is also important to have knowledge of the preparation of our menu items and where our products are sourced from. Maintain cleanliness of bar menus and organization of menus. Communicate efficiently with management, service staff and guests. Have and maintain working knowledge of the POS (Aloha) to correctly complete transactions efficiently and minimize mistakes. The Grass Skirt is looking for a reliable team-oriented Barback with weekday availability to join the team.Barback's responsibilities include but are not limited to: Keep the bar stocked with liquor, syrups, glasses, napkins, and all other necessary items before, during and at the end of service hours. Constantly keeping up with clean glassware and polishing. Prepare garnishes, refill ice wells, change beer kegs and restock napkins and straws. Make syrups and batches by method of cooking and vacuum sealing. Detailed, intricate recipes and methods to follow. Recording pars and consistently keeping up with spreadsheets. Clean up spills, remove the glassware and organize the counter. Greet, refill water for guests and reset mise en place. Keep the bar area neat and clean. Handle emergency situations like cleaning up broken glasses and clearing up clogged drains. Occasionally, pour beer or wine for guests when asked by a manager. Ordering produce, garnish, N/A, purees, syrups at the end of each night according to pars without over / under ordering. Job Description The barback assists the bartenders and other bar staff by ensuring the bar is properly stocked, frozen daiquiri machines are filled with product and clean at all times.
